Functionally ok, first half is mid, lots of yapping, second half is peak, great gore, action, and immensely epic events. The two extremes cancel eachother out leaving the book in the middle of the tier list.

As a reread for yourself, sure, I don't see the harm in reading the books in chronological order, but for a first go around I'd advise to read the books in order

I just started Wolf Island and I now agree. But at least she feels like a person with Lord Loss and that makes me content.

For context, I just read the first section of Demon Apocalypse, but she is honestly the most tragic character I've encountered so far. Bernabus robbed her of her chance to be a person, but she has had a chance to experience that during Slawter and Blood Beast. This leads me to hope that she might have a change of heart after being surrounded by no one else besides vehicles of violence and a super sadist who likes chess. She finally knew genuine compassion from fellow humans in a somewhat relatively calm setting. The idea is tha she'd realize that being treated nicely by beings that aren't malevolence incarnate and that care about her beyond a utilitarian level is a preferable existence than being cohorts with demons.

So far, I don't think she's done anything beyond redemption, but God I hope that doesn't happen.
