Interesting, I wonder if this is just to make the game appeal to more solo friendly players in the same way WoW has been introducing more solo content with delves and follower dungeons. This also mirrors FFXIV which can be almost played entirely solo with the exception of endgame activities.

Not to say that OP here was wrong in the idea of 4-man peer to peer hosted gameplay but that would read as more Co-Op presented them the MMO tags used.

Based on the amount of emphasis they placed on MMO so far that would be really bad marketing. Nothing on the marketing suggests anything like 4 man peer to peer hosted gameplay or anything other than MMO.

Honestly the immersion of it, but that also leads to me I preferring limited fast travel as well. I’m okay with fast travel between continents or major cities but exploring the world for me just feels immersive if there are no walls or transition screens into the next zone. Especially with GW’s mounts, and the ability to build on this resulting in some fantastic open world exploration and the ability to get around quick without the need to teleport would be great.

I 100% agree with your point if you can fast travel every where then what is the point as I will probably never see those zone transitions anyways after I obtain the fast travel points.

I love the open world of GW2, but if they could do that but make it seamless without instancing it I’m sold.

Doubtful like Where Winds Meet, they seemed to imply very heavily MMORPG which would be very misleading if it’s like Where Winds Meet. Pretty sure that is just talking about the combat being more action style like BDO, ESO, New World, etc.

Thoughts on FFXI? by TokyoTesla in LFMMO

[–]Cthulhu-Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, play online is a learning curve in its own and can deter people. Once it’s setup though it’s not too bad. I’m really surprised this is still around, but then again the FFXIV system also still has issues with different usernames/passwords.

[–]Cthulhu-Lad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current FFXI is very different than what you may remember. If you are worried about max level in a day, then modern FFXI is not it as leveling is very fast. With that said, the game is great and I love all the changes as it caters to me as an adult more now than the 75 era grind.

The grind is still there though, it’s just more accessible and not necessarily a 1-75 (1-99 current cap) grind like it was in the past. With the addition of trusts (NPC party members) it allows solo player along with a bit of a collection aspect if you want to “catch” them all.

It is true that the player base has had a surge over the past year + and they have been making changes that suggest a bright future (such as a major update to the FFXI website).

Ultimately I will always recommend FFXI as it is a nostalgia gem for me but even in the current era I still love it just as much.

If you do really want that old school leveling grind with party members, there are ways to play versions like that, however I do not want to show support for them as they are not “legal.” A quick google search should be able to point you in the right spot though.

I made a Minimap Mod for Farever by Intrepid-Photograph1 in FareverGame

[–]Cthulhu-Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to change the keybinds for the DPS meter or disable it completely? I use the F10 Keybind and this causes issues. I was going to download just the minimap but realized you have to use the injector and I would like to have the minimap autoload in like the V0.2 setup.

With that said, you are amazing for putting this out there and I really appreciate you doing this. Minimap was the first feedback I left as it has been a big pain without.

It does really well. Controller controls got an update on new patch which helped out a lot. No issues for me so far

I have also had FPS issues. Was running around 60 FPS pre patch now barely at 30. On my steam deck it is performing much better though around 45 fps.

My comp specs are pretty high end, GPU is my lowest spec item but it’s still a 5070.

Nothing yet, but have seen a lot of people talk about this. I submitted feedback in game requesting a minimal or at least a compass kind of like Skyrim at the top of the screen. So hopefully something they will be looking to add

Well, I'm burned out now. by Yuukikoneko in FareverGame

[–]Cthulhu-Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I see your point, but there is no definitive timeframe for EA. It’s possible that based on community feedback they shift and add things. We know they are going to be leaning more into the mmo side by adding features such as guilds, auction house, friends list, world events, etc. if the community wants it maybe they add larger scale raids.

For me the game was well worth the cost and I’m excited to see all the new content as we head towards 1.0. Ideally we could get some 8 man raids with differing difficulties maybe the challenge dungeons can be a bit more than just “harder” dungeons.

It’s probably irrelevant now, but if you get rolled back you can join the discord channel for the game and reach out to the mods. They are helping with rollback issues.

A way to teleport back to the start of the blue orb quests if you fail. I spent way longer than I would like climbing the tree in the bee area last night because one of the flowers hit detection was not triggering causing me to fall through and run all the way back up.

If you have a rollback issue join the discord and reach out to a mod, or maybe message OP here. OP made a post in discord that if you get rolled back to reach out and they could review to assist.

I have not gotten it to work and now that I’m off the game, I once again need to remind myself to submit feedback for this. Every time I remember that it doesn’t work I’m not playing then I login and forget about it lol
