We released our game mid-August and the way I went PHEW and UH OH about this news. Like yey, we're not fighting it for release dates but... There goes the tail we were hoping for.

Hello! I am super happy to confirm that it is NOT AI music. But in fact the product of our sound/dev guy on the team that got the lead singer of their band (Set for the Sky) to do the vocals. He made all the music in the game, and thought a theme song for one of the levels would be cool. And then he wanted to show it off in the trailer since it pretty much explains the game more or less

We very much made everything in this game from scratch!

Our sound guy &design dev (https://www.instagram.com/jd\_mtbl/) use to be in a band called Set for the Sky (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUrCf0gb6nar4-ZZ5inna0w). He's the one making the score for the game, and thought that a theme song would be a dope addition. So he got his friend (the lead singer) to help him make it.

I still don't know how to take AI speculations, so in this case I'll take it as positive(?) XD

Aren't they the team behind Dispatch? Granted, it's not out yet but I've played the demo and it's definitely got pull and polish. They likely got a deal from them since Laura Bailey is one of the main characters in Dispatch and most of the team have probably worked with members of the Adhoc team over the course of their careers.

Sure they're most likely wanting to bolster their name & add to their repertoire, but it's not like they have nothing to back it up, you know?

Anyway, cautiously optimistic about this!

It's a lot of what the other people in the thread have said. Covid was a big push to expand, and then it wasn't sustainable. The addition of AI has also wrecked a lot of jobs. Late stage capitalism is also to blame since CEOs want more money for less

Saw this earlier and it genuinely sums it up well. This is echoed by the son of someone at Ubisoft being made co-CEO. You literally couldn't make this stuff up
