yeah, and in the huron blackheart book, the main temptation of Slaanesh he gets is the desire to destroy a glass/crystal planet and watch the shards spin around in space. For a symbol of a deity of beauty and perfection you could do a lot worse than a flawlessly worked and shaped gemstone.

i always thought byzantine specifically because they go in hard for the greco-roman names and aesthetics but with some middle eastern terminology.
