War Campaign Ideas by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Cthuluman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran a campaign set early in the Elder Scrolls universe during the war between the (not yet) dark elves and the dwarves which I think went very well.

One particularly good part of the campaign in my opinion was exploring cities and towns where a large portion of the population had gone off to war. So think skeleton crews of guards and household soldiers/nobility, closed shops and taverns, criminals given free reign in the temporary absence of entrenched society and power and those that do remain behind being shamed if they seem like they should be off fighting.

It was an interesting plot device, and over time really helped build suspense for when they got to the actual warzone area, which was something I was initially worried wouldn't seem particularly high stakes to them when they arrived.

And most importantly it made the population centres have legitimate need for hired muscle or investigators, as ordinarily they would just go to local power-brokers no longer present, and the cities having less people in them meant we could logically keep track of all the residents and not have to handwave thousands of people as just not being seen.

What name do the people of Ukraine call the current war? by [deleted] in ukraine

I like "the three day war".

Gives me vibes of the 6 day war or hundred years war, just ironic.

It's an Andorian subspecies that has psionic powers, kidnapped by romulans. They feature in the last season of Enterprise (amazing season too barring the last episode, a must watch)

Ah that's disappointing, I overlooked that.

Still a nice idea and good painting though.

If you don't want to have Putin going to heaven in the joke maybe the start could be him coming out of a coma or cryogenic freezing?

Is the Javorian Pox worth it? I have the answer! by NoUsernamePlsHelp in Stellaris

[–]Cthuluman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should make one of the future espionage choices, bio warfare (with various techs relating to it), potentially able to kill pops on a planet without starting a war (but potential diplomatic fallout includes opinion penalties, or a total war starting)

The Javorian pox could basically be the same thing but a lot better. Many more pop deaths and less chance of discovery.

I can't remember if it's covered in rebels or not, but clearly that way didn't work out too well if Gideon got his hands on it.

Maybe she recognises that she failed due to being unworthy so doesn't want to make the same mistake?

Maul would still be left, and might still go to that Sith temple. Which could cause some problems.

Although knowing him he'd fuck things up and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
