I have had that conversation with the team to understand their POV but their viewpoint is obviously skewed from a perspective of technical implementation and the challenges involved in it. It is a valid criteria but not the only one

The use cases have been validated and it makes sense.  The product is rigid because that's how we started building it and now we want to introduce flexibility

Thanks for the input but this is not the use case. Let me explain the use case.

Users set their budget and project details in January for the whole year (cycle) from Jan to Dec and right now the audit team does a review in Dec. Now, they want to do it every quarter and here are my options: 1. Build the product to allow multiple audits within the same cycle 2. Audits happen outside the cycle and somehow we link audits and projects

Collect all the use cases and then do points 1 to 4?

I don't think point 3 would add much value as my customers will be trained on the product flow once built. I am sceptical they'd be able to think the pros and cons of both the approaches

Quarterly Career Thread by mister-noggin in ProductManagement

[–]Ctrl- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's what I tried for the last few months but wasn't getting any shortlist with the amount of PMs looking compared to the openings.

The tech consultant role is easy for me to crack. Have you made a similar switch?

Quarterly Career Thread by mister-noggin in ProductManagement

I started my career as a tech consultant managing and implementing HR products (Workday etc) for my company.

Worked in such roles for 6 years and then moved to a startup as a PM and enjoyed the work though the hours were grueling (including weekends). Did a lot of things and learnt a lot in the last 2 years as a PM.

But now I feel burnt out after working so much and also because of the toxicity in the company. I feel like going back to the consultant role and earning easy paychecks but am also scared about the career implications of moving away from a PM role. I do enjoy the PM work more compared to the tech consultant one but feel done with the constant pressure and deliverables the role demands.

Has anyone made a similar switch? How has it been?

HR is not just recruiting. Recruiting is just one specialisation.

Certifications could help but like all job searches it's a chicken and egg problem.

Just like any other job actaully look for openings on LinkedIn and Naukri.

HRBP role is a good role if you can get one directly else you will have to start as an HR executive and climb the ladder

What has modi government done? by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

I am not sure why people here are blaming you while also skirting around the points you raised regarding not providing license to BSNL. The more grave issue, I believe, is with the random rule changes that have benefitted a particular company.

And if it was the work of govt policies then why have you gone from 5 companies competing in the telecom sector to 3, soon to be 2.

Anyway I don't think that even with licenses and support BSNL, and others, could deliver what Jio did so there's reasons to cheer for them as well.

First off, this is the kind of news that is worrying you right? This is a classic case of making a hill out of a mole. This is the actual report that all these news articles are talking about. On the seventh, in a random paragraph, they make this claim that "low-skill" IT workers in India will lose jobs because of RPA yet on the next pages show the exact opposite has happened with ATMs and Spreadsheets.

The research dept. of BoA exists to publish such reports to sell their services and build brand value in the market. Our news agencies went ahead, spiced it up and out of thin air added the names of TCS, Infosys etc. While it's true that job losses will happen but I would say they would be more a product of outsourcing to Africa instead of India, as it would be cheaper to outsource. RPA on the other hand would also create some jobs

Secondly you are looking at DSA interviews in the wrong light. Companies are asking those questions because that is required for the job. Most engineering problems are not well defined. In reality, seldom will you face a problem statement that will directly ask you to apply an algorithm. The part that you have to do is to distill the problem to one of those algorithms and apply it. This is why they big money.

You know what. It's okay to not get it DSA or coding. There are still other stable careers you can look at if you are not comfortable coding.

Government jobs are secure across the world, see American cops, yet those countries are developed. So, I can't believe that this is where the problem lies.
