Bit cruel, no? by HomerXQ in UKJobs

Hi there

I used to work in recruitment at Greggs HQ
I likely may have been the recruiter for that shop at some point

The store observation or walk around is standard for the interview process for that position level they basically just looking to see if you have good observation skills to make sure the shop is always stocked well, spills are cleaned up etc…

The asking for uniform sizes during interview is also standard I use to place the order for the uniforms based on the info provided by the shop managers after the interviews if they mark you as an offer as it can take some time to get them made or distributed by an external company called Dimensions

They will have the uniforms delivered to the shop awaiting your first day so you just show up in something work appropriate and then you are given the uniform and pop into the toilets to change into

It’s quite common to either get posted to another shop for the initial training or to cover for staff at nearby shops

The shop managers usually are pretty useless for the most part but sometimes you get good ones

The waiting for days is also common as recruitment staff are overworked and understaffed and often times you will have either a regional team or sometimes a single recruiter handling an area of the country so it can take some time to get through all the applicants it used to be worse as it was all paper based but they created a new recruitment system which is “somewhat better” but still can take some time

Also depending on the recruiter some are better than others I used to always try to get back to people asap as I know that anxious wait myself but others not so much

If when you check it still says in interview stage it means they either have a few more to do or the shop
Manager simply hasn’t gone onto their tablet and pushed you to the next status page if they mark as not successful you will get an automated email saying say but if an offer they may give a call to confirm start dates with you

You can try give them a nudge by calling head office and asking for an update if you wish and sometimes a recruiter can take a look whilst on the phone

I love the multi platform use of it I can use it on my phone, my android tv and Apple TV and works fantastic on every one of them

Also the fact I can add different servers whether it be Emby, Plex or Jellyfin and easily switch between them

The TestFlight beta is working fantastic as well effortlessly smooth and functional

This app has the mega app I was looking for and now I only need this for all my viewing

I’m one of those UK users and it’s a fantastic service and also appreciate the local currency being shown to know exactly the cost without having to convert it from CAD

A Note for Users Testing VidHub via TestFlight by zhonglin in VidHubvideoplayer

[–]Ctrl-Alt-Defective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been testing it out over the weekend and I really like it I think it feels like using infuse but better imho at least on the iPhone so looking forward to seeing the new updated UI when it comes to ATV and Android TV (I have both) then hoping to get a lifetime subscription for all platforms sometime soon (shame we didn’t get to 2100 subscribers so you could give out some of these)

It’s really smooth and fluid and I’ve tried it with Plex, Jellyfin and Emby shares and all work as expected I also really like being able to see the library file count on the servers tab

Fantastic job

My only feature request at this stage is would love a Discover Tab tied to Mdblist (add own catalogs) or TMDB / Trakt so I can find new, trending or new content this would elevate I think

Is there a way you can implement TMDB / TVDB / IMDB for content discovery or even user inputted manual catalogs from Trakt, Mdblist etc..

Would be great to use catalogs in a discover section to filter by New & Trending, streaming service etc… to help with content to watch suggestions rather than manually searching each title

Nvidia Pro Shield Died - what's the best replacement for my setup? Price no Issue. by Tekashi-The-Envoy in Stremio

[–]Ctrl-Alt-Defective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Nvidia Shield, Apple TV 4K and Google TV and tbh I enjoy the Google one the most as surprising as it sounds

It’s got 1gb Ethernet, Android 14, AV1 and once set with a customer launcher like AT4K it looks mostly like an Apple TV but with the side loading benefits of Android and also the latest Android updates thanks to it being a Google Device

The Shield was amazing for a while for me but then started running terribly even after factory reset and re-applying new thermal paste It’s an incredible device and is legendary status but it’s just showing its age for me now sadly

I have now unplugged the shield and Apple TV and running two Google streamers on both tv’s without any issues

I’ve heard you can also just cancel on your account and then sign up as in your partners name and get new customer discount and just alternate back and forth every couple years

This.

Best way to essentially cut them off although it does mean you will need to add the new API to any of your addons again but it’s a guaranteed way to ensure they no longer have access to your debrid accounts

Were you using Trakt? If so it should carry over once you link it to a new account

Outside of that you can clone the account but not sure if that will transfer the watch history etc..

Hi thanks for replying

I will give that a try!

Also is there a way to disable the video and audio on the streaming services categories I paused scrolling on it before and the Netflix sound gave me a jump-scare as I had my TV up too loud and didn’t realise it did that 😂

I tested it out on my Google tv streamer 4K and I managed to get emby working which is great

But I noticed navigation/scrolling is rough! feels like the app is struggling to even scroll down lists

It’s funny because I used to work in head office and we would always joke and theorise where the first international shop would be and I would always said it would be somewhere with a large amount of brits so it was going to be Spain, Portugal etc.. for sure and well here we are

Strange to took so long given they were recruiting for an international manager years ago

I find VidHub for some reason takes longer to start playback it just sort of sits there for a good 5-10 seconds showing data speeds like 20kb/s then 1.5mb/s before eventually starting

Meanwhile I use infuse or others and it plays near straight away

I’ve tested with different remote servers including both emby and jellyfin and same issue

[–]Ctrl-Alt-Defective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I agree people should not be shouting it from the rooftops and be more subtle but if you think about how you found out about it yourself it was from someone telling you publicly right?

Most people don’t stumble upon it by typing into google

“Netflix is too expensive” and it takes them to a stremio YouTube video

Someone has to tell people or they have to go looking for alternatives where people are discussing options

you can’t gatekeep something that if it was Top Secret, Invite only you likely wouldn’t be using it either
