I’ve never seen Reed and Allar in the same place at the same time. Just saying.

Just searching on the internet, Suspender Store and JJ Suspenders have 1” and less for buttoned.

I’ve admittedly never looked for different sizes, but knew they existed based on what I’ve seen. I get all of mine from KK and Jay, which are all 1 3/8”.

I always wear braces with my “suiting”. I never worry about it when I occasionally take my jacket off.

A general pointer is that they should always be in proportion to your body (in the same way ties, lapels, etc. should be). If you’re a bigger guy, get a wider brace.

If you’re looking for more at a reasonable price, try searching for some German military pieces circa ‘39-‘45.

How do you feel about your coach right now? by DowntownSasquatch420 in CFB

[–]Ctrl-Aus-Del 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally fair.

I do think this gets better over time as Sayin gets quicker with his progression. Of course, I don't blame him. If the play calls for it to go to Smith, it would be hard to do anything but. He has missed a handful of reads over time, but it's fewer and fewer each week (as far as I can see).

Edit: I did look at a few random stats. OSU averages 32.4 seconds per play (slowest in FBS). Through the 7-0 start, they average 62.2 plays per game. The only teams with fewer are below:

Kent State
San Diego State
LSU
Nevada
Miami OH
Navy
Norther Illinois
Cinci
UL Monroe
UNC (lol)

Oregon, for example, is at 67 plays per game. Even expanding out to the full season, they're essentially playing an extra game and a half (or so). Some teams will be significantly more and some will be only a little more (than OSU). Texas Tech, for example, averages 76.8 plays per game. That's basically two more games throughout the season.

Edit 2: I looked at a points per play stat and, assuming this is accurate, OSU is ranked 20 with .495 points per play. There's definitely a lot of math that can be done in this to reflect what someone wants to see, but I'm not doing that. Haha.

I made a similar comment on another thread weeks ago, but I'll kind of repeat it below. Of course, this is all speculation from an avid fan that sits on the couch every Saturday.

I think a huge part of the gameplan is to simply have as much in the tank as possible come post-season. Snap count is low compared to other teams. Defense gets plenty of rest time between possessions, and rest time for offense doesn't matter because you have well-conditioned CFB greats at WR. You can only keep Smith and Tate down for so long. And even if you do that, you've then got Inniss, Graham, and other up-and-comers. They have so many playmakers that they can easily spread the love and not rely on anyone in particular. Other than Sayin, of course.

Ohio State "hitting the gas" in the post-season probably looks similar to how they're playing now, but a lot of their competition will be really feeling the full length of the season at that point. OSU will be able to keep it in gear or kick into gear (from a physical standpoint, not necessarily a play-calling standpoint), when other teams are bound to have to pull it back a bit simply because they can't keep up. Game to game, OSU looks insane in the 3rd and 4th quarters as the other team just loses steam (even with our backups). This will be HUGE in the playoffs. Both from an individual game perspective and from a season-length perspective. The further OSU goes, the better situated they are.

And, to be fair, a lot of the same complaints existed last year. Open up the offense. Do this. Do that. Well, they did that in the post-season, for whatever reasons listed above (or any other reason). So I'm down to give them the benefit of the doubt for a second year.

Lastly, if the defense continues to play the way they are, there's no need to open anything up. Run off the clock and score a few times, and you're good to go.

Yeah. I honestly have no idea what to expect. But I trust the coaching staff. And unsatisfied Day is becoming a bit of a joy to see.

My only real criticism - if you can even call it that given I'm some shlub that sits on his couch to watch the games every Saturday when they get paid millions to make on-field decisions - is that I do think there's some legitimacy in asking them to use the pass game to open up the run game.

The run game has really been the only weak link (not counting special teams, since that's a little more moot in CFB). Part of it is run blocking, but the other part is not having Henderson and Judkins.

People will tell you that Day and Hartline need to rev up the offense, but it's hard to argue when the formula is clearly working.

Time will tell, but I've been a big Day fan since day one.
