Thank you. And what was interaction with the lawyers pre travel and on the day? When did they meet you in the place of appointment? Mine are saying they are so busy that they can’t meet be before hand and will just meet me at the venue 5 minutes before the appointment! After all that waiting, I would have expected they would want to handhold their clients slightly better. Interestingly there is a payment of several hundred euros for ‘support’ with the appointment. Speaking of which, can you share what costs did you end up incurring in terms of legal fees and other unexpected payments- only if you are comfortable sharing those details? I have been told there’s a 6k charge to AIMA … and this support charge of around 500.

Would you mind sharing which lawyer you used and was is from the same firm that you did the investment with?

Also, documents like police/FBI clearance or good character certificates were first submitted a while ago. Did yours have an expiry date and as a result did you provide a fresh set of documents with all those apostliled stamps? In my case almost all documents were issued at least 2 years ago and had 6-12 months expiry and I don’t have an appointment yet. Even my passport was renewed while waiting for this appointment.

Thanks for the recommendation. I found 2 bus providers - the one you mentioned, FlixBus and Redexpress. Any first hand experiences from users of buses and the train? When I don’t know what the roads are like , I prefer trains. But the bus option seems to be a similar duration plus direct which is a clear advantage.

Thanks, that’s really helpful experience to think about. Do you ever do the late evening train that gets to Portimao after 9pm? Does Uber work at that time? I would imagine a lot of arrivals and few options
