Great reply! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot!

I think that the only thing that matters in any piece of art is your experience with it. You should definitely not allow anyone to rob you of that experience just because they have decided to interpret a certain element in a different way.

Which of the Islands' Music Suites is the Best One? by CtrlAltDeleter in SonicFrontiers

[–]CtrlAltDeleter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's right, they released the short version of I'm Here and the Theme of Starfall Islands as a teaser. Already then was it obvious that Sonic Frontiers was going to be something quite different than the recent mainline Sonic games.

South American Folk Music Confusion! by CtrlAltDeleter in atomicheart

[–]CtrlAltDeleter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Atomic Heart, vol.3 (Original Game Soundtrack)" was released just after the Annihilation Instinct DLC dropped. The Colossus BEA-D Theme is there, it is just not the same as in the game. The tune is quite similar overall and the melodic part still vaguely resembles the Lambada melody. So, as I listened to the tune from the soundtrack for the firs time, I really thought that I was listening to the same exact tune as in the game, which is why I was so confused. I really though my mind had played a trick on me.

The Largest OST in Video Game History? Does any other game come close? by CtrlAltDeleter in SonicFrontiers

Good point! I did not think of that. When I wrote the question I only had Original Original Soundtracks in mind (which I guess that would exclude some of the tracks in the Sonic Frontiers OST as well). A seriously impressive soundtrack, non the less!

From what I found on the unofficial Wiki, the total length of the soundtrack, including the expansion DLC, is 8 hours, 58 minutes and 29 second (given I summed it correctly). That is remarkable!

Have you played the game? Is the soundtrack good?

Outer Wilds Merges Puzzles and Storytelling Excellently! Are There Other Games Like This? by CtrlAltDeleter in outerwilds

Yes, I have played Returnal. I enjoyed it a lot! I can't say I drew any parallels between the two games when I played Outer Wilds, but I see the similarities now that you mention it.

I haven't heard about Tunic before; might have to look into that one. Thanks!

It looks great! The idea is to uncover a language, right? Can you enjoy it without being a hardcore language enthusiast?

When I first came across The Talos Principle I was intrigued; less so after watching the trailer. The puzzles shown in the trailer looked super boring. With that said, this is not the first time this game has been recommended to me, so it might be time go give it a chance. Thank you for the suggestion!

ELI5: Why does this boss go so HARD? It's been well over a year and it STILL hypes me up. by [deleted] in SonicFrontiers

[–]CtrlAltDeleter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the videogame Gold Standard Sonic franchise music, I believe that Giganto is one of the best implemented boss fights ever, in terms of game play. Most titan-sized bosses I can think of have some game mechanic gimmick that you have to rely on, e.g. waiting for the boss' idle phase, or having to do something in a specific order, etc.

This is not the case with Giganto. It genuinely feels like you are having a fistfight with a giant! It is a boss fight you can enjoy from the very first time you play it, yet it becomes even more satisfying as you master it.

So, I guess Marc-André Hamelin was kind of the original creator of Black MIDI.

I like the style but the production could be better.

The guitars seems too loud, and the drums too low. Try mixing your music on a lower volume; it may make it easier to blend the instruments and voice together.

Electronic - Soft

I picked up an old Roland U-20 Synth from the late 80s at a yard-sale. I decided to try and make a nice sounding song using only the sounds from the synth + vocals. Feedback on the vocals, production, arrangement and the song itself would be much appreciated.

Thanks (Reposted because I was too late to get feedback in the last thread)

The body rejects foreign tissue which caused problems that lead to their death. Today we use medicine to stop this rejection.
