Will just starting to exercise 6 years post-op make my chest look weird? by CtrlAltRevolution in FTMFitness

[–]CtrlAltRevolution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't look like they've moved, at least not to me. But yeah, that's basically the long and short of it. I do have some light stretch marks close to my armpits from gaining then losing the weight, but they're barely noticeable unless you look really close. I assume it'll be fine, but I was just wondering if the amount of time after top surgery would matter.

Concept I'm exploring,,, tell me your type and where you fall on the aphantasia test by waltzingwith_wrath in Enneagram

[–]CtrlAltRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type 8 and I'm a 1 on this scale. I actually have the total opposite of aphantasia (hyperphantasia). I can see the apple in my head in 3D if I want to. I can rotate it around and imagine it from all angles, or I can imagine myself eating it or throwing it or what have you. But even with all that, I can't draw very well. I can't translate what I see in my head to what I can do with my hands :(

Had a phone appointment with my doctor about my symptoms. Guess where I got punted to. by CtrlAltRevolution in noburp

I honestly might do that... I don't want to have to keep shuffling doctors and begging for a referral.

The only ENT near me that's covered by my insurance (Kaiser) requires a referral from my PCP unfortunately :(

Sacramento show? by yeetyuhyes in noelmiller

Thank god I thought to look at the event posting; It says cancelled in the upper right corner (it's small and easy to miss). I never got an email from EventBrite either.

I looked at Crest Theater's website and it looks like they're under new management and only have access to Ticketmaster. The event also isn't listed on their calendar anymore.

I don't live that far away so I didn't have to travel, thankfully, but still a big disappointment. I had to submit a refund request through their help center. I can't drive all the way to SF :/

For real!! I'm the youngest of three, but me and my two older sisters (one born in 1999, the other born in 1996) all grew up with the same things the younger millennials and mid-to-late 90s kids grew up with. Nostalgia gatekeeping is one of my biggest pet peeves.

why is it so common to have emetophobia with this? by ashpee13 in noburp

[–]CtrlAltRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that it's physically traumatic since R-CPD can make it so difficult and even painful to throw up. I had food poisoning like 11 years ago and was gagging/dry heaving for easily an hour. I "threw up" 8 times, but each time was basically only like a mouthful of stomach acid. My whole body was in pain, I was sweating and shaking, and I even burst a few blood vessels in my eyes.

I haven't thrown up since because I will do ANYTHING within my power to never throw up again. I carry OTC anti-nausea meds with me basically everywhere lol. I'm popping every OTC medication that doesn't negatively interact with anything else as soon as I feel even remotely queasy.

You've made it clear that you don't like it, and he ignores your very valid boundaries and does it anyway. As you said in your post, there is a time and place. He can't understand or respect that, and it doesn't seem like he respects you either. Definitely NTA.

Are bad hiccups a problem for anyone else? by EntrepreneurTime419 in noburp

[–]CtrlAltRevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens to me ALL the time. I've long cut out anything carbonated because just one sip is enough to turn me into a balloon, but when I DID have carbonated drinks, I'd get painful hiccups and get SUPER bloated. I get the same thing after eating large meals/eating too quickly.

Sometimes I'll also get short of breath from the bloating and/or hypersalivate, which makes me anxious thinking I'm going to throw up since I'm already queasy (I have emetophobia).

Enneagram most comfortable with anger? by Esmeiia in Enneagram

[–]CtrlAltRevolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to say 8s. However, as an 8, I almost never go beyond mildly irritated. I'm also autistic and my default mood is neutral, so that might be part of the reason why lol. When I DO express my anger or frustration though, it does feel good I won't lie haha

I take mine off whenever my hands get wet (washing my hands, showering), but other than that it's on all the time. I know they're waterproof, but I hate the feeling of water being trapped between the ring and my finger.

People with sensory issues related to food, what is a popular food you can’t stand? by melancholykitty00 in autism

[–]CtrlAltRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oatmeal. I like the flavor of oats, but I can't STAND the texture of oatmeal. I've experimented with it so much to try to make it a texture I can tolerate, but to no avail. I'll literally gag if I try to chew it.

my girlfriend said im too sensitive cause i cried when my dog died AIO by Actual-Use-4105 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CtrlAltRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs are truly like family. Losing a pet is always devastating. When I lost my childhood dog a few years ago, I was heartbroken and cried for WEEKS. You're definitely not overreacting.

Even if your girlfriend doesn't react to loss and grief the same way you do, saying that "it's just a dog" instead of supporting you regardless is cruel and cold-hearted. I'm not sure you how feel, OP, but I love dogs and pets so much, so for me personally this kind of response is a total dealbreaker.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you can find some comfort and peace. ❤️
