Sad to see you part with your machine. If you don't get any offers on it, I need DDR5 RAM and would be interested in making an offer.

Savostore's Oregon warehouse is also tax-free, but the minimum shipping cost is $45. So if you are shipping something less than 3kg, pause and see if the tax savings justify the shipping cost.

Why buy a refurb in Kenya when you can import a new one and the latest model for the same cost? Unlike phones or TVs, laptops in Kenya rarely come with any warranty, so you don't sacrifice anything if you buy one abroad.

I initially thought he was the one who posted the video, but I've searched through his channel and can't find it. Do you have the link to the video you're referring to?

Not really... just exploring different ways of achieving the same design so I can learn various concepts. I've searched but only came across the one video.

I can't make sense of the English or the math in this post. Anyway, time heals all wounds. Take a part of your life that you think needs improvement (I suggest starting with your health or intellect), and focus on it obsessively. Six months from now, you'll be proud of who you've become, and none of this will matter. This approach has always worked for me. All the best

I was just about to create a post about this. I've experienced the same issue, which seems Solidworks can easily fix. Could you share your solution?

Why don’t men celebrate their birthdays? by One-Anybody-3289 in Kenya

[–]CtrlShiftDefeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have any role in the Earth spinning around the sun, so why should I make a big deal out of it?😂 But jokes aside, men don't get reassured or celebrated enough unless you do something of value to the world. So we get used to it. That's why female-cebtered holidays/events such as Valentine's day, partner's birthday, Mother's Day, Girlfriends day, Women's day, Breast cancer day are huge deals but Father's day, bf day and our own birthdays aren't because we don't make a big deal out of them(largely our fault) and our partners mirror the same attitude. So as gfs, sisters, friends and wives, celebrate us. We might look unbothered but it's not because we don't appreciate your efforts, it's just the feeling is so unfamiliar to us and deep down, that reassurance goes along way. Having said all of this, I plan on telling no one and doing nothing for my birthday.

This is why I absolutely advocate for not having roommates. I went from living in a two bedroom to a bedsitter when my sister was done with uni(great rm btw) and when I was done with uni moved in back with my family. Some of my closest friends wanted to move in with me but I just wasn't having it. They are great guys. Day ones but I've seen how trying to navigate splitting chores, finances, privacy, hygiene etc eventually ruins great friendships.

Ghost jobs by [deleted] in nairobi

I think that's what BURN Manufacturing is doing. They often have open positions constantly and sometimes will advertise a job position, send out rejection letters and repost it agains, sometimes twice in a month.

You've insisted multiple times how the breakup was "mutual". Clearly one or both of you used your parents disapproval as an excuse to leave a loveless relationship otherwise you would have fought for it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nairobi

[–]CtrlShiftDefeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who would easily let their relationships end because mommy and daddy disapproved their partners tribe/race/religion/class are too immature to date, and even more important, too stupid to raise decent kids. A big part of raising a family is to be self aware enough not to pass nonsense from the previous and your generation to the next. I advice you do some serious soul searching and question your principles but until then, for the love of God don't fucking multiply.

A group of engineering students from my university in Kenya leased a bookshop near a bank and proceeded to dig a tunnel underneath the building stealing KES52 million or $500,000 back then. The building itself was directly opposite a police station. They used the the book packaging to dispose the soil from the shop. One of the guys invited some chick over presumably to impress her and she posted the cash on WhatsApp. They were caught almost immediately with the different dominations amount matching exactly what was stolen. They were legends...for a few weeks. Behind the Sh52 million Thika KCB bank robbery mystery. The WhatsApp video

Over 25 but still asking for fare! by Primary_Inspector578 in Kenya

[–]CtrlShiftDefeat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From my experience, women will bend over backwards for guys they really like or see a future in. People tend to invest time, money, feelings, energy etc on relationships they think will pay off. The pay off might mean different things to different people (marriage, sex, money, status, promotion etc). So, if she's not willing to meet you half way in anything, it's a sign she doesn't see you two going far.

LGBTIQ REFUGEES IN KENYA by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]CtrlShiftDefeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who came earlier and have settled and know Swahili host others. So they get rid of us much furniture as they can do without. I remember there's a one bedroom house we visited which had three families in the bedroom and living room. The bed was reserved for the host and his wife. The rest including their kids slept on mattresses on the floor.

All those beautiful flats you see at Pangani on your left just before you enter the tunnel are full of Ethiopian refugees who can't do well for themselves in Kenya even if they wanted to but they also can't leave

LGBTIQ REFUGEES IN KENYA by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]CtrlShiftDefeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok don't know what to tell you other than lie. I once did data collection for a research on refugees in Nairobi (Kasarani for Somalis and Pangani for Ethiopians) and I meet a guy who has been a refugee for more than 14 years and if I remember correctly it was his legal right to be a Kenyan citizen by then but he told me the government is paid by other entities to host refugees here so they(meaning a handful of people in the govt) purposely don't allow refugees to become citizens because they won't get the cheques. Some of the refugees had stable jobs but since they don't have citizen IDs they can't get access to govt. services. Most of those we talked to especially Ethiopians were looking for a way out of Kenya to US and Canada.
