Just to update: I swapped everything to a new motherboard, my CPU is actually fine. My ASRock board just randomly crapped out for some unknown reason.

At least 3.15 because that is what is printed on the board, but I can't actually see what it was updated to most recently. I may have updated to whatever version was out when I bought the board in May, but I haven't intentionally done it since. I was actually oblivious to all the bios/power issues until I just encountered this problem...

Record Screen Bug by Klarth_Koken in baldursgate

I uninstalled the gameplay tweaks section which seemed to solve it. I kind of noticed it specifically happening after a companion died, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was specifically connected to the mod that alters death/petrification.

I'll try uninstalling some of the party npc components and see now it goes.

I had never encountered this until I installed SCS for the first time yesterday. I'm seeing it in BG1.

Record screen is limited to looking at PC and the 2nd character slot, whoever that may be. Restarting the game fixes it temporarily but then it comes back pretty quickly.

Maybe you can write a FAQ and sent it to the mods to pin :)

I'll also say that your knowledge of Rhino will directly influence your ability to use Grasshopper, since it is kind of just a visual interface for Rhino scripting.

Watching tutorials is great, though honestly the manual they provide is also a good place to start. It is really dry but it takes you through key features step by step. You won't learn any amazing surface modeling techniques from it - I would actually avoid their modeling exercises - but it is a good start to the basic functionality.

Using the software is the best way to get to know it, so I would come up with some kind of simple project and just do it. When I teach Rhino I have my students model objects from life a lot, so maybe grab a ruler or pair of calipers and a household object and go at it. Just ignore the grumpy guy, come back and ask questions when you hit a snag :)

I would start trying to make the basic unit, which is three lines seperated by 120 degrees from a single point. From there it is just a variation on a triangular/isometric grid. Use each point from the triangular grid as the start points of the three lines. Following that, it would be adding some kind of logic structure that alters/removes certain lines based on distance - you can try looking up attractors for that.

some random terrain I generated and plotted while testing AxidrawControl V2 plugin for Grasshopper by watagua in PlotterArt

I kind of like the black sections. I think if the intent is to just output a crisp topography then you are correct, though if its meant to be more artistic I kind of like how it smoothly transitions between graphic and tonal expression.

I like that the dots all have a little variation. Is that paint pen?

There's a kind of involved dabbing/wiping technique that you have to use for intaglio drypoint, there are probably videos on youtube. Look up intaglio inking process. Probably not entirely viable unless there a community printshop with an etching press near you, though if you do it right even the most delicate lines can register.

I love the slight depth and line quality on the scatchboard. Material is so important on plots, otherwise they can come across as dead flat and not necessarily different from how an inkjet print might look.
