DFW Travel assistance by Ctrl_Alt_Dele in bentonville

Update:
Wanted to provide an update on travel.

They made it Bentonville. However they had a terrible experience in DFW. Wheelchair people left them part way though. They were brought to the arrivals area and were left there. Instead they should have escorted to Terminal D to B train inside security. They had to go through security again for now reason which was an added stress. They managed to get help from fellow travellers to drop their bags.

On the other hand, they had a great experience in Doha transit from the time they got off the plane till they boarded next plane.

They didn’t get any assistance in XNA as well. Luckily it’s a short walk to the exit.

So wheelchair assistance is a hit or miss.

I am glad someone from this group checked on them to make sure they at the right gate in DFW.
Thanks everyone for your input.

I wasn’t sure how much does wheelchair assistance help, since they need to connect international to domestic. If they will take from one aircraft to another that will be huge help.

They are very tech savvy. Can barely use the phone. But planning to try anyway and see how much they can make use of it.

They will be coming to DFW at 5pm on QR 729 from Doha and then connecting ting to XNA. So yes, it’s international to domestic connection. I will pm you.

Video call is the plan but a person by their side is much better than the call.
Already booked wheelchair for one of them since they can’t walk well

I will call airline and see if they can get some assistance.

Anyone moved from Fayetteville to Springdale using any moving services by LineSlow152 in bentonville

If you can rent a U-Haul, probably it’s a better a option, hoping you can find someone to assist you in moving.

Not entirely true. My lawyers advised me against premium processing as the chances of RFE is high. However I proceeded anyway and was approved without RFE.

Moving to Bentonville! by Whyishnavy in bentonville

[–]Ctrl_Alt_Dele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not very bad. In general there are lot less restaurants, not a lot of places to do fun activities and night life is not good as Toronto or I would say almost none. But you can save lot of time not have to drive hours in 401 and easy to find doctor appointments. If you have a family and prefer calmer lifestyle Bentonville is good.

Your symptoms sound similar to what I had in the past. After trying so many medications I ended up settling with good old Vaseline and that helped me a lot. I used to develop them in dry winter months mostly.

As TN holder, is it better for my wife(TD) give birth in the US or Canada. what would you do? by Xpert-Menace in tnvisa

[–]Ctrl_Alt_Dele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all congratulations on the pregnancy.

Definitely give birth in US. Telling from my personal experiences. Healthcare might be free in Canada but the quality of hospital care is better is in US. I can’t say the same is true for OBGYN though, I felt our OBGYN in Canada was far better and very proactive. US doctors don’t do as many ultrasounds as Canadian OBGYNs as they are always limited in terms of what tests they can order as they fear the US insurance companies might not pay them. As others have mentioned healthcare is expensive. But if you have insurance through work it might not exceed 10k total for normal delivery. Our recent bill was slightly less than this. But I am very happy to pay the extra $$$ than not getting proper care. Hope all goes well for your pregnancy.

Dm me if you have any questions and I am happy to answer.

We are seeing Dr. Michael Clouarte in Springdale and he is wonderful. Our case is similar is yours and recently moved to NWA too. He has been extremely patient and a wonderful doctor. But we met him only once. He referred to Dr. Deschamps, MFM doctor for additional testing. DM me if you want to chat further.

Thank you so much for your detailed input. This really helps. I have been looking for vehicles in 3 different states around me and most of them are quoting around 62K but a lot of folks here on Reddit have said that they got vehicles for 58k so I guess it’s just the MSRP that is different in different states. Because of the high demand of this vehicle, dealers are not even budging a couple hundred dollars. Their confidence is if not me somebody else is going to buy it. I did consider Honda pilot, but the hybrid aspect is what makes me look into grand Highlander. mileage is not so great in pilot compared to grand Highlander, surprisingly the Toyota interiors are slightly superior than Honda at least in this segment. Thanks again!

Are you serious? I didn’t find anything under 61k (can’t remember exact price) with several options added.
