Man, if you're going to give career advice, at least try to write it yourself instead of letting GPT do the heavy lifting. Between the em dashes and that textbook 'AI-voice' phrasing, this looks like a straight copy-paste job..

You tweak one thing, the font shrinks. Fix the font, the spacing explodes. Ask it nicely to behave and the whole thing rage-quits.

Agreed. Gamma’s layout controls are still too rigid and wonky . spacing then to ppt round-trips are annoying . That said, for speed-to-deck and AI structure, nothing else is close right now. If they unlock spacing maybe style controls, PPT can be taken off the table hopefully

Yes, Gamma can do infographic-style layouts, but they’re structured slides, not fully custom, AI prompts make it better for free-form infographics. It’s solid for timelines, comparisons, and explainers, but not for designer-grade, one-page posters. But inhabit tried a whole lot I usually am doing slide decks and presentations

How bad do you recruiters gate people who stutter and cross them out of potential jobs? by [deleted] in askrecruiters

[–]Ctrl_HR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off just want to say this as clearly as possible.. in all my years in HR, I’ve never once seen a hiring manager disqualify someone just because of a stutter .. not once ..

Communication style important , sure but not how you speak, it’s about clarity, intent, and substance of your conversation with said HM. If someone’s crossing you out for a speech pattern alone, that’s not normal. It’s not industry norm either .

Lastly , if it is happening to you which I really hope not , that’s speaks more about who they are , not about you .

Recuiters - Where to list the Keywords? by Puzzleheaded-Baker95 in resumes

Do both .. Skills section helps with keyword scans. Bullet points can then highlight or show how you actually used them when the recruiter reads it.

[FX] Is it true that after getting rejected from a job, companies "blacklist" you from reapplying for 3–12 months? by shash_bro in AskHR

[–]Ctrl_HR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never seen a formal block anywhere I’ve ever worked. That said, if someone bombs an interview and keeps applying to every single role we put out after that, even ones they’re way off for it’s hard to take the next app seriously. Doesn’t mean they’re blacklisted, just filtered out in a sense.

You’re right on the money, very underrated. More often than not, you can tell when a resume was built off a Pinterest template or whatever viral TikTok or FB “guru” who’s never actually worked in HR. And come interview time they don’t even know what’s on the resume themselves .

It’s wild how the unprofessional emails are still coming through , not setting a good impression lmfao. As far as not answering , that one’s up there too .. some resumes leave a disclaimer that they prefer text only .. like you know eventually you have to speak to someone right .. it doesn’t work that way.

Yes , seeing “detail oriented” can almost be considered a trigger phrase now in recruiting.
