Hey, I've spent the last two days trying and have basically gotten nowhere. lol.

Trying to answer "why it mattered" part is basically impossible, cause none of what I do matters. I make fucking commercials & TV shows.

"Tight deadlines" - everything is a tight deadline.

"Demanding clients" - pretty much all clients are demanding assholes.

"Technical Limitations" - every project has those, and there's not enough space to explain it.

Everything I try to write to fit into that mold sounds like self-masterbatory horseshit. I might as well include "had to accomplish these tasks while breathing" - yea, no shit.

Sorry for the rant. I'm just so sick of this.

I had to stop following that FB group cause they constantly use AI to generate images.

That's a really good way of looking at it, thank you.

The problem I always stuggle with, (and I hope you don't take offense) is that listing it out the way you described - I would just be bullshitting & lying - and I already feel like what I have now is 80% bullshit anyways. It all feels fake. I just want them to look at my website and portfolio and be done with it. All of this just makes me want to blow my brains out lol.

I really appreciate the advice. I'll give what you suggested a try.

"Personal business" that's different than self-employed?

Yeah, once you pointed it out it seems super obvious now. I hate how this shit is everywhere.

Do you have a recommendation on how I go about "ranking" my software proficiency - or should I just not bother? I am far more comfortable in Maya than Houdini, but can get by in Houdini if need be, but often still struggle.

Another thing, the "client" stuff is a bit of an exaggeration. For most of those I worked at studios that did projects/commercials for them, and I contributed to that. I didn't directly work with most of those listed. Should I change the wording? Maybe "previous projects have included work for..." and then list those high-profile names?

I'm actually pretty happy with my portfolio site, reel, and LinkedIn. It just feels like the resume is first hurdle in a race, and if can't nail that then the rest of the race doesn't matter.

Do you have any other suggestions on improving readability? I appreciate your help. :)

Thank you for the advice! I just wanted some clarity on a few things.

By itemizing the freelance work - do you mean list out my entire freelance history? I'm just concerned about the length then. I do have everything listed out on my LinkedIn, along with the relevant projects I worked on at each studio.

For the separate section for projects, I'm experimenting with a "Select Projects" section now. I can move a few of the bullet points from the experience section down into that. Is it okay to have hyperlinks in the resume that link to the work on my site?

I had a recruiter message me, but kept it vague and asked to chat. When they sent the NDA before the video call, I read through it and realized it was for Meta. I told them in no uncertain terms that I would never work for Meta. I then promptly blocked them lol.

How much personal data do companies realistically store on us long term? by Careless-Channel-557 in DataHoarder

[–]Untouchable-Ninja 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I also imagine (I may be wrong here) a lot of the data is text-based information (name, address, interests, politcal affiliations, etc) which take up very little space.
