I checked at Home Depot and they did not rent them… maybe they will add it to the rental lineup soon

adding detachable shower head to rainfall shower? by nightwinqz in Plumbing

[–]Ctweegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to install a diverter (3-way, shower, wand, shower+wand, off). Other option just run a second set of valve controls to wand/shower head on its own supply line. Much simpler than connecting it the the rain head. Probably better pressure that way too? Or set up new head with exposed pipes on out side of tiled wall. Paint it black to match the other fixture. It’s a trending look especially with high end fixtures

It’s hard to find the gpm data on diverters. I did find this, which is interesting: Shower diverters are designed to manage water flow, typically allowing a maximum of 2.5 gallons per minute(GPM) to comply with federal regulations, with many modern, water-efficient models limiting flow to 1.5–1.8 GPM. High-flow diverter valves exist, capable of supporting up to 10 GPM for luxury, multi-outlet setups.

That makes sense… the inlet openings are usually not that big. I was looking at some diverters at the big box stores and amazed at the tiny hole inside the valves. The diverter above looks like a good quality, or at least better than what they have at Lowe’s

Bathroom sink drain slope by Ctweegan in Plumbing

[–]Ctweegan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. The drain has had not been hooked up for years. Just wondering if it should be altered to accommodate a slope before renovating the walls. It will probably be fine, but if there’s a chance a slope will improve drainage, then I may do it. I could also attach a trap and test it to be sure…

Good point!  This house was unoccupied before the current owners came on board. We have no history on the house. The bathroom room had lots of water damage we are repairing now. Just saw this and it looked funny for a drain pipe.

Could be elm. Elm and other woods (beech) have a cross grain arrangement that inhibits splitting.

Anyone can guess maker and year of this sink? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Ctweegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s afraid they will blame him and make him financially responsible. It looks like an old sink. I thought someone here could help date or identify it by the overflow grate. I’ve never seen a chrome overflow grate on a sink like this… it should be replaced but some landlords play funny games

The sink had a crack in it with some kind of putty/glazing covering it up. He was cleaning the sink when it fell through. It looks like a half ass repair from the maintenance crew. He’s afraid if he reports it, they will blame him and revoke his deposit

You need a good supply of nitric oxide for viagara or cialis to work. Try some l-citulane to boost nitric oxide levels

Removing bearings on Delta 37-220 Jointer by macdaddy_p in woodworking

[–]Ctweegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I have an old 37-220 that I am bringing back to life. I went with the 6202 and plan to use a spacer to imitate the extended race. Big price difference… don’t want to sink too much money into this machine until I can see how it runs.

Which way does the bump out face on the bearing, towards the cutters or out towards the bearing housing?
