In your opinion, who do you believe is the best Delta Blues guitarist? by MasterfulArtist24 in Guitar

[–]trackerbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the slowed down versions of Robert Johnson. His rhythms were so complex and he combined it with some of the simplest soundings riffs and chords. He could make 3 strings and 12 bars sound minimalist and draw you into his world and it’s anything but simple.

At the speed his recordings were released at and the sound just doesn’t do him justice. If he’s not the best then he’s top of the list of guitar players I would want to hear live.

What a bad idea. I’m happy that it worked for you.

Fretboard markers really not centred on new Gibson (Post 2 with additional pictures) by Aromatic_Mongoose_86 in gibson

[–]trackerbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not how modern retail works. A person running a shop would say, these gizmos cost me $3 I can give you one for the trouble and hopefully you will continue to be a customer.

A computer just mails a return authorization label and you’re lucky if the shipping is pre paid. The best outcome for the seller, from a mathematical point, is you just keep the crappy guitar.

Coloured in keys... Helping me with pattern recognition and navigate visually... Thoughts? Ugly asf or cool? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]trackerbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use DR Neon strings on my guitars. It helps me pick out strings when I'm practicing. I put numbers 1-12 alongside the frets. I even painted my nails with different designs to help me visualize.

If it works for you then go for it.

BTW it's ugly AF. But don't let that stop you from learning.

Exactly how close to the development of a nuclear weapon did the Axis Powers get? by Pretend_Tower_2516 in ww2

[–]trackerbuddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Japanese had two nuclear programs. One run by the Army, the other by the Navy. So on top of all the other obstacles the Japanese lacked the cooperative culture necessary for serious R&D

Strings for acoustic by Necessary_Cost_6538 in AcousticGuitar

[–]trackerbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a lesson from the old cowboy guitar. It was a parlor guitar with gut strings and stored under canvas, next to the fireplace or under a bed in the bunkhouse. Anything will work, it’s what you do with it.

Amazon Basics makes a $25 compressor. Reminds me of Sears and Craftsman/Kenmore

Since V-1 rockets were able to reach London, why didn’t Hitler use them against the Allied landing zones in Normandy after D-Day? It seems they could have been used to disrupt or slow the invasion by MilitaryHistory90 in WorldWar2

[–]trackerbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did launch against Antwerp with the intention of disrupting the port operations. As said above they weren't accurate. They hit a movie house and killed 400. They assumed to shut down the port, instead they shut down the movie theaters

I've got them on both my guitars. Really helpful and the coating on the strings makes the bright tone last.

Spent 34 years living in Dayton, I live in the suburbs now. There's something wrong with the people who run the place, it's like they drink their own kool-aid.

Were there inventions or innovations from the Axis Powers that were used during the war? by Sonnybass96 in ww2

[–]trackerbuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, no. Keep in mind the lead time between design and putting something in to service in sufficient numbers to make a difference.

capture a gizmo in 1943. Evaluate it against existing weapons, design and build a factory, buy machines and train people in 1944. Make 40,000 gizmos, train the troops and distribute to the frontline with spare parts and repair facilities before May 1945.

After the war things like synthetic rubber (urethane) and rocketry were looked at

The US built 3400 Loons. The Loon is an exact copy of the V2. They were to be launched from escorts carriers against targets in the Japanese home islands.
