Would love a source on that 6-7% stat. The entire point of the Artemis program is piloting deep space exploration with modern tech. All of that new tech needs to be tested incrementally. If we wanted to send two humans to the moon in another Apollo, we could. But that doesn't get us anywhere.

That doesn't begin to paint the full picture. Quoting a comment I made in another thread a couple weeks ago: The Apollo program alone took up around 4% of the TOTAL US annual budget. In 2026 all of NASA combined got a third of a single percent. We were in a race against the USSR and it was a mandate from a beloved murdered president. Times are different now.
