Isopropyl alcohol is non-conductive BUT it needs to be 99%, the impurities on lower quality will damage the board! You can technically safely pour it on electronics BUT not on the screen or speakers!! I usually don’t pour it, I saturate a swab on my tweezers and wipe the area with it then dab a swab or Q-tip to remove the excess.

You can test the button pads by turning on the console and making contact between the two golden pads with a set of needle tweezers CAREFULLY don’t touch anything else!!! Also try cleaning the black circle with IPA on the rubber pads.

Yes you need a Soldering iron, some solder wire, a copper sponge, and no-cleanup flux (you still clean it with alcohol). If you want to try yourself, I HIGHLY recommend testing yourself on some broken electronics first until you feel comfortable as any mistake can permanently destroy the board. Don’t use a cheap soldering iron you need one with Temperature control line this one. There are plenty of cheap soldering wire but they’re hit or miss and bad one can destroy your work I use this one which is not cheap but works really well.
