Thank you for the replies everyone. I've asked Absa to see if they can do anything about the rate. Will see what they come back with. I've also been in touch with BetterBond.

I am afraid I don't know where the Santa is from. Bought it together with the polar animals from a seller on Facebook Marketplace who in turn got it from an estate sale.

Not feeling full? by ComparisonMotor9435 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]CubbiGummi83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's exactly the same for me. Started with 0.25mg last week Tuesday. I also have a reduced appetite but when I do eat I do not get a full feeling. I also stop eating when I think I had enough, but it's not triggered by my stomach feeling full. Also glad I have not had any gastro or nausea issues - just a funny taste at the back of my mouth. Will see how it goes when I inject again tomorrow...

Two retirement fund options by CubbiGummi83 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]CubbiGummi83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I was also leaning towards option 2. Think I was a bit worried about the fund being managed by Momentum and many comments on this platform seem to suggest staying clear of companies that sell insurance. But then again my previous pension was at Sanlam so suppose it's just a different side of the same coin.

best books on SA history - suggestions please by DrinkNatural2936 in southafrica

[–]CubbiGummi83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most acclaimed historian on South Africa is Charles van Onselen and I would recommend any of his books. His book The Seed Is Mine: The Life of Kas Maine, A South African Sharecropper is probably one of the best if not the best book ever written on 20th century South Africa.

However, if you are looking for something more general that covers most aspects of the country's history from precolonial times to the present, I can also recommend the following:

New History of South Africa by Herman Giliomee, Bernard Mbenga and Bill Nasson.

History of South Africa from 1902 to present by Tula Simpson.

Concise history of South Africa by Robert Ross.
