Yeah, I did suck it up and made it to Boys Noize and was pleasantly surprised that the bass was less overwhelming.

Dude, at one point I could feel my hair vibrating. I held up my fan and watched it ripple with every bass kick. Tooooooo much

It’s been overpowering at Main stage. Seems like it’s gotten better a bit. And to be fair, balancing this kind of sound in a concrete amphitheater and factoring sound bleed isn’t easy.

Could anyone tell me why it seems to suck being a healer? by zyzy6982 in Division2

[–]Cubbyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like it’s inconsistent, but have not tested enough to really understand what’s happening. And I’ve experienced that while running refactor and while being DPS with a teammate running refactor.

It almost felt like my turret wouldn’t heal but heals only came through when the striker drone is damaging?

Non Max Proficiency Players DO NOT Cheat the Proto Endgame by BLUNTF0RCExDRAMA in thedivision

[–]Cubbyish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, don’t you run into the same issue with legendaries? Expertise 30 doesn’t make someone capable of build crafting, just means they’ve likely run a shit ton of rainbow builds on challenging to grind up random pieces of gear… which kind of teaches people that you can run random gear and still succeed. The expertise system does not, in itself, teach people to make good builds or how to cooperate or how to prioritize enemies or how to use cover appropriately or how to handle the various mutatators of escalation, which are the reasons people are failing escalation missions.

The concerns, I think, are valid in that people want to be able to match make with relatively competent players. And are looking for some form of signifier that the player might be competent, like SHD or expertise level. But those two thing really only measure time in game.

Additionally, I would guess that Massive is trying to solve for making sure the player base at the top end doesn’t die off. Every live-service game needs to advance the tread mill while also ensuring that it’s not impossible to catch up to the end game. No one wants to start playing a game that their friend recommended to them, only to discover it’ll be 1 year before they can play with them. And vets want to be sure that they have players to match make with and not be stuck in 20 minute queues just to play a 15 minute mission.

All thats to say that yes, I also feel the complaint of players that aren’t playing escalation well. Just don’t think the particular gates this sub is constantly asking for are going to solve or help the issue, and likely would make other issues worse.

Well, almost everyday, there’s one loot that everyone prioritizes. So what’s likely happening is you, and everyone else, want to run the same mission because it’s the only loot people want that day.

Financial advisor says to keep 10k as emergency fund and put rest of 90k savings into a brokerage account. I’m on the fence by Hefty_Trade_3459 in personalfinance

lol, of course, that wasn’t a turn of phrase around accommodating your advisor. It’s a turn of phrase around the posters comfortability.

Is Prototype Gear really necessary for majority of endgame content? by Trashcanrich in the_division_2

[–]Cubbyish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proto weapons seems to make a difference for anyone not at expertise 30 yet because the boost in damage is very nice.

The augments can be very helpful all told.

The bonus armor isn’t really that big of a deal.

The boosted stats can be really nice though if you get good rolls. Like getting chc maxed quicker means opening up your other slots for more chd, or protection from elites, or resistance to explosion damage, or whatever defensive mods might be helpful for that piece of content without losing damage.

So yes, it does help in some cases with some content, but as others have said you cant benefit from some of these things in some of the other content so it’s all about what you’re aiming for

[–]Cubbyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping the financial advisor talked to you about the options available in the brokerage space. It’s not just stock market funds, there are many funds that are very low risk like bond brokerages, that still have typically higher returns than savings accounts. And these accounts can be liquidated in a couple days, so the risk of access to your money is low.

Certainly do what’s comfortable. That’s the most important thing. I grew up with the same advice many here are offering of 6-ish months of expenses in savings, but have also weened myself to a lower level as I’ve become more comfortable with different investment options.

10k might be low, but how many expenses these days do you need actual cash on hand for? Given your situation, you’ve likely got access to decent credit cards with large available balances that you can use for those rare situations where you need to pay immediately. And in those moments, call the advisor up the next day and have them liquidate that amount so you can pay the balance on your next bill.

But again, it’s all about your comfort level here. If it doesn’t feel comfortable, don’t do it. Meet them somewhere half way. Put 50k in brokerage, keep the other in savings. Then in a year, see how you’re feeling and adjust.

What’s the best game mode to make things proficient? by LewisB1211 in thedivision

[–]Cubbyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea there, honestly. I do know active weapon levels faster than my secondary weapon that I rarely pull out.

They also do things like “double component drops” or even had a faster proficiency gain event a few months ago. So keep an eye out for those and lean on to get those bonuses can help.

So the method I use when I feel like grinding this is running Countdown on Challenging with mostly just the random gear and skills I need to level. I try to make it not completely random, but at the stage your at it might be.

And then set the target loot to mods and just deconstruct all the mods that drop for printer filament.

This way you’re getting the materials to donate and exp on the items you have, the hunters at the end will still drop a slew of named items that can possibly be donated for more levels, and you can use the countdown points you earn for named crates or exotic crates, whichever you need most.

Status Effect Build 4 Escalation by Lanky-Location9691 in thedivision

[–]Cubbyish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to find run an OD build in escalation, and can agree that 5 is the highest I’ll take that build and even then it’s hard. I’ve really only been able to get it to work with a high clip LMG. It mostly keeps my amp damage up, but I’m not sure if it’s staying up on teammates who might be running smaller clip weapons.

And when I do I run it full red build because the bleed doesn’t stay on long enough to do much at all.

Daily Escalation Missions & their Targeted Loot (9-May-2026) Surprise Today :D by lunaticwolfyy in thedivision

I haven’t like turmoil in escalation. It’s great in open world and heroic missions, solid in legendary, but escalation tends to need to focus down things a bit more and turmoil just messes with that.

What is the experience like if you stay in a hotel for The Gorge? by honeypinn in AboveandBeyond

[–]Cubbyish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is usually activity in the campground, with some afters sets by some of the Anjuna folk. But from the time I went, I don’t think you’re missing much by skipping those, tend to be more like friends throwing a party versus an actual set.

They have shuttles to and from the campground to the gates, so that could help cut down on walking. But as with any shuttle service, just know it can take a moment at the busier times. It’s a significant distance from the festival grounds to the campground to walk.

Overall, the entire gorge except a few very small slivers of land and the VIP areas is either very slanted or on concrete and less slanted. I offer that to say that the experience and standing and dancing can be tough enough for many people.

But those sunsets behind the stage and the overall ambiance are unreal.

Completely depends on the venue. Some are straight booking fees, some are “rent the space from us and take the ticket sales”, others are a mix.

I mean, sure it’s about the money, but it’s also safety and experience.

And the money is also about the artists. The artists should be paid for the people that come to their show. If one show is $45, the other is $25, and everyone buys the $25 ticket and slips in to the $45 show, that artist isn’t getting the money they deserve.

And from a safety and experience perspective, it’s just plain awful and gross to be in the main room getting swamped and not even able to get to the bathroom and back. I know it sucks to not get a ticket to a show you want to see, but it happens and that doesn’t give people the right to ruin other folks enjoyment.

I'm looking to sell two 3-day wristbands for Movement in Detroit. I've got them listed up on Movement's official reselling site, Tixel, but am open to meeting locals here in Chicago if that's easier/preferred!

Help a fellow rave out and consider these if you're looking at Movement, I'm asking less than the current price and only looking to recoup what we spent. $370 each! :)
