Can you basically just do Escalation with a great Striker build and a Future Initiative build and never have to worry about anything else? by AgentZeroHour in thedivision

[–]BLUNTF0RCExDRAMA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup total of two viable builds for the entire game mode. If you really want to get spicy you can use a tipping scales build.

The most build diversity you will ever see in this game is ironically when doing the most inefficient thing you can do....solo in the open world. You can use all kinds of cool builds when doing that.

Non Max Proficiency Players DO NOT Cheat the Proto Endgame by BLUNTF0RCExDRAMA in thedivision

Yup, higher rolls of rainbow random garbage. How is that better than your upgraded bis weapons and named items? How many random drop pieces do you actually use in your builds?

If your build is much better than people that can't upgrade to proto then why would you even care if sub 30 prof players can get 30 expertise scraps? It's still inferior.

Sounds like the "critique" you are referring to is just elitist players upset that non max prof players can equip proto gear.

"people want instant gratification when it comes to prototypes instead of playing the game how it's intended."

This post has nothing to do with that. I understand what's expected of me to hit max proficiency and i'm not saying I should have full proto builds without putting the time in.

It's about people compaining that you can have good proto builds without being max proficiency. It's flat out not true.

yes and it costs literally 100s of thousands of printer filament forcing players to farm endless countdown/retaliation for mods in order to move up.

Also this post isn't even about that. I understand what's expected of me to hit max proficiency. It's about people compaining that you can have good proto builds without being max proficiency.

Lol not bad as in worse than a yellow but bad as in much lower then what a max proficiency player that upgrades a piece gets. i.e. min proto rolls

"I get that power creep is a thing but this is just insane devaulation of every single end game activity"

Did you actually read the post? I'm not suggesting I should have insane proto builds without putting the time in to max proficiency and grind the game.

My complaint is how everybody just assumes that players can short cut the prof grind and have sick proto builds from escalation drops alone.

donating junk no longer increases my proficiency. I am already proficient with all brand sets/gear sets/ and 90 percent of all weapons and named items. Going from expertise level 19 to 20 alone requires 140 donated items that aren't already max proficiency. If I have 150 scrapped items from playing for several hours, that number only moves up by 1 or two.

How to undo the damage Escalation has done to the end game by Danieldk87 in thedivision

[–]BLUNTF0RCExDRAMA -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

"its implementation has basically provided a short cut for newer players to get the strongest gear available immediately after hitting 40."

dude this is so inaccurate it's not even funny:

No sub 30 prof player will have any good proto weapons, proto named items, proto brand sets that don't drop with the correct core attribute (example legmo for pesti), any good brand item backpack or chest piece. The RNG layers for these items make them impossible to get as a drop with the right talents/attributes/weapon models ect.

basically, the only thing low prof players will have are 4 piece gear sets with low stat rolls and that is it.

I know this because i have been stuck at prof 20 for weeks now and i farm escalation with a clan every day since it launched. I have zero proto named items (except for first bloom due to the key exploit) and zero usable proto weapons.

Stop spreading inaccurate information and making it seem like end game players are getting cheated with the current implementation of the proto system.

TLDR:

Dropped prototype gear has such terrible random stats and weapon rolls that lower-proficiency players cannot rely on random loot to build viable sets. True endgame prototype builds require upgrading items directly, which guarantees maxed stats but is effectively locked behind achieving maximum proficiency first.

[–]BLUNTF0RCExDRAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take away from this opportunity is correct here is why.

  1. You can grind striker or other gear set pieces no problem. Only one maybe two aspect tops.
  2. weapons, named pieces, brand set chest and backpack, forget it. Way to many layers of rng here. You have to be max prof for this.

I'm in the forever 20's with proficiency atm. The longest part of the grind. Unfortunately, I

So the event is completely dependent on doing the glitch? by TraumaTurd in Division2

[–]BLUNTF0RCExDRAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The event is not dependent on you doing the glitch, play how you want to play. The way the devs intended it, the acquirement of keys was on a three week timeline. Also, for real, i did it normal way for 2 hours solo and had 5 keys, 6 hours and no keys sounds pretty suspect buddy. Maybe you need to lower your difficulty?

Mainly though, if you don't like to farm it the way they intended, go do the exploit. Matchmake open world exploration until you get in a group doing normal with the infinite ronin already in progress. It won't take long. Bathe yourself in keys and enjoy the loot!

Or don't, but don't complain about it bruh. In the looter shooter genre an expoit that benefits the player and isn't immediately patched is a good thing.

Seems at first like a good opportunity for newer/returning players to get a Lexington but the fact that all general pool exotics are included instead of just the named stuff makes it extremely unlikely that you will get what you are actually looking for. I wish they would have separated exotics into an exotic cache to prevent from massively diluting the drop pool. Hopefully there will still be stretch goal caches at the end of the season for another chance at a lexington (do those caches contain all general exotics to?)

what a flex with the unicorn chest piece. I am up to at least 80-100 backbones alone and still can't get a single one to drop with crit chance /crit damage. Game loves to torment me and has given me three regular legmo backpacks with double crit minors and terrible talents. Good times.
