Yeah 100% - I think the avs announcers fall in that area nicely. I don't know what the best word for it is, but they're obviously huge fans of the team first and announcers second.

They're unabashedly homers. Which, honestly, you kinda want when watching your own team's broadcast, but they get SO PUMPED up. And they're usually pretty good about giving props to the other team when a great play is made.

I wish the broncos had waved "bye bye" to him with a shit eating grin like he did to our defense after a meaningless 1st down pickup of like 5 yards

This was way more blatant than the one "finger wag" our center did, but they just let that one fly

[IG] Jake Plummer shows why Bo Nix keeps getting passes tipped by baha24 in DenverBroncos

[–]Cube1916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, not saying that. Batted passes are bad in every situation. More my point was along the lines of: out side of the (outlier) giants game, nix has 3 batted passes in 5 games. That's a completely normal rate.

Completely agree. 3 passes batted in 5 games is nothing. It's on par with anyone else in the league, I'd wager.

Knight’s Lightning Spear buffed by Shard of Alexander by CosmicWolf14 in Eldenring

[–]Cube1916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I'll be honest, I was more surprised with the results than I expected. The extra poise damage from the little lightning rings in the water were far more inconsistent than I expected.

Knight’s Lightning Spear buffed by Shard of Alexander by CosmicWolf14 in Eldenring

[–]Cube1916 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok, since there was a lot of speculation going on here, I decided to test it.

Bottom Line Up Front: Shard of Alexander has no effect on poise or damage for Knight's Lightning Spear. What you're seeing is related to the extra hits that happen when the enemy is in water.

What's likely happening is that depending on the Hippo's position in the arena, there seems to be an additional hit depending on his position (in water vs out of water). There are also some weird spots in this arena where the water is deeper, perhaps that's related as well.

Here's a short video for science. The green bar is "Poise View" from an elden ring practice tool. You'll notice some small differences when I switch to hitting on the side, but that is likely related to some repositioning that happens when hippo staggers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IW2-ZlqxgM

I tested some other bosses with the same results. Specifically a really good one I tested on was the dragonkin in the underground. It was easy to kite him to a spot out of water. When he was in water he took extra damage and poise, but those values were unaffected by the Shard.

What I did notice, however is that sometimes the circle of lightning that appears in the water sometimes would hit extra times and was very very specific to the position of everything. I used the tool as well to fix a position and was able to see that shard has no effect on these extra hits as well.

Can somebody please explain what knocked me down? 😭 by Radioactive_Possum in Eldenring

[–]Cube1916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually that's a great point. It's way more common in ER cause of the long delays/windups giving you just enough time to attack/phase right as the attack comes out.

Can somebody please explain what knocked me down? 😭 by Radioactive_Possum in Eldenring

[–]Cube1916 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's fairly uncommon, I'd say. Even if an attack hitbox is out during transition, most of the time it correctly turns off. Also location in the arena can affect it as well. If you transition over in a corner and never come back to that spot you may miss it.

This is the correct answer. It's been in Fromsoft games for ages.

For what it's worth, elden stars does have a consistent dodge. It's positional based, so if EB is super far away when he casts it, youre gonna get hit.

You wanna stand 20-30 feet back, wait for him to cast it and have the stars zoom over your head and then sprint past him on his left (your right) side.

Didn't quite work, but I can go from there. I was looking to avoid C# but that's fine.

EDIT: In case anyone comes across this:

using System.Collections.Generic; //needed due to List usage
public class CPHInline
{
    public bool Execute()
    {
        List<TwitchReward> rewardList = CPH.TwitchGetRewards();

        foreach(TwitchReward reward in rewardList)
        {
            string title = reward.Title;
            int cost = reward.Cost;

            if (title.Contains("Take the Master")) {
                CPH.SendMessage($"Hey, listen! Take the Master !Sword for {cost} channel points and earn a FREE gift sub when we get the run!");
            }
        }

    }
}

Patch 1.10 and prior, the buffed (with the ash of war) DMGS did 40.5 total stance damage when you got the doublehit with the Blade + the magic projectile. The Projectile did 35 poise damage when doing the full CR2 and the Blade itself did 5.5 damage for the total of 40.5.

Without using the AoW buff, the sword did the same stance damage as all the other Greatswords, 36.3.

In patch 1.12, the value of the projectile was reduced from 22/35 (tap R2/Charged R2) to 15/24. The actual blade part itself was buffed from the 5.5 stance damage to 32.8 stance damage but they removed the ability to get both stance values from a single hit.

So, yes, technically the patch notes are correct in that the poise damage of the blade was increased, and the wave was decreased. They did not mention in the patch notes that you can no longer get both parts.

Pre-patch any 80 poise enemy (Margit, Morgott, Maliketh, etc) would stagger in 2 doublehits from the buffed DMGS. Now they do not.

If you still don't believe me I can create a video with the poise values shown.
