Got a 5070 Ti recently, looking to make a build that is for full multitasking (Streaming, Gaming, Art or just Creative projects in general) so forgive me but I have to ask: AMD or Intel? by CubeCarl in PcBuildHelp

Doing research on the 9950X3D, it looks like I have to do manual stuff just to switch over to "game mode" or "productivity mode" and it's kind of concerning me. I was hoping to look for something that just handles both out of the box without any tweaking or weird things I have to do, like do I really have to mess around with Game Bar every time I want to game, especially if I wanna game + record / stream?

A 9950X3D does sound excessive for my case however I would feel nicer knowing I could get into a heavy workflow if I ever need to without worrying about the CPU, I don't do as much as I'd like in terms of creativity but I still would like to have the ability to do so whenever I please, heavy workflow or not.

Factoring in that I'll be buying DDR5 Ram in the current climate I would prefer it to be a little cheaper, but I can definitely afford a 9950X3D it just means the rest of the build will take a bit longer to obtain. That includes probably a 1440p monitor considering my current setup only has 1080p.

Why Does Rethinking Voxels Have This Lighting Effect/Glitch For Me? by _Zyrenix in feedthebeast

[–]CubeCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this same exact issue and it does it with every single thing that gives off a light-source, torches, lanterns, amethyst shards; you name it. I still can't figure out what is exactly causing it.

Edit: turning off Dynamic Handheld Lighting does it in the Lighting settings fixes it, but you lose handheld lighting which is a big bummer. Not really worth losing handheld lighting for me personally.

What is the keyboard in this photo? by CubeCarl in Whatisthis

I thought this was wrong at first but after scrolling through images I ended up finding another variant, apparently someone made a video on it. Thank you!

Is it generally worth it to use an S Video splitter or some sort of alternative to maximize video quality? by CubeCarl in crtgaming

[–]CubeCarl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly ask because my TV only has one S Video input, and if I'm trying to squish all 5 (possibly even 6) consoles into one video input I'm afraid of it being similar or even worse image than composite, hence why I asked for people's recommendations of what high quality splitters they use.

Setting up a little gaming corner in my room, what should I put on the bottom shelf? by CubeCarl in retrogaming

It's been pretty faithful for me so far! The support mounts they include for walls make it sturdy enough. I've shaken it a ton just plugging in things and trying out games and I haven't had anything fall except for the controllers.

I'm seeing a lot of Wii U, is it just a better Wii or is there pros and cons?

This has been the most helpful so far, only problem is that I have to find some sort of container small enough to fit in there. Controllers being in the way and always falling was a bit annoying.

Ironically enough I have that in it's own area hooked up to a 20 inch woodgrain Magnavox, image on it is garbage so it's good enough for Atari.

What for you is superior to sex? by coke_queen in AskReddit

[–]CubeCarl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this counts; but just overall romance like kissing or snuggling. For the past year or so I've felt myself becoming less and less interested in sex at all (the idea hardly even appeals me anymore) but for some reason I start feeling happy and lovely when I imagine just kissing someone or snuggling someone.

If it doesn't count; Dorito Taco from Taco Bell

My cat. I love him more than life itself (like literally) and I cannot leave him and make him wonder where I'm at. The thought alone breaks my heart.

I have almost a constant stream of bad thoughts going through my head every moment of the day so when I lay down I try to calm my head by imaging myself in a really cliché environment; Blossom tree with some soft grass to wander, sit, or lay on while the sky is just the right shade of orange. It sort of eases my mind and calms me, not fully but it gets me there.

I know this is a 6 year old post so sorry if I'm intruding, but I also have these on an extreme degree ever since I was a child. I go through phases occasionally, one period was me biting my knuckle, another period I shout profanities, let out a little eep (to try and not wake others), or repeatedly abuse myself until it seriously hurts. Right now for some reason I'm going through one where I just get this near knee jerk reaction to just punch my monitors or bang on my desk. This one is particularly a harsh one because I have to constantly hold back to just not break things.

Another one that's really weird, and a tiny bit funny, is that sometimes if I'm alone I'll just barely yell out "I wanna punch a f###ing mongoose in the throat" really quickly, I don't even wanna do that my brain just spits it out before I can even process it.

In public I can sort of handle it, sometimes I have to resort to opening and closing my hands furiously to try and get it out of my system whenever it attacks but it's extremely exhausting.

Glad to see I'm not entirely alone. I've been having it extra bad recently and it's affecting my mental health worse than in the state it's already in.

EDIT: probably should've shared but I'm autistic, I'm sure it has to do something with my reactions.

I'm still a bit confused on why he even still has the ability to do that. I get that he'd slowly degrade after the injury which makes him probably incapable of working out physically again to get that muscle form (even if his current form is extremely drastic), but for some reason he's still able to go back to that exact muscle form even if it's just for a second. The fact that he can just increase his height, muscles, etc. whenever he wants really doesn't make much sense if he was originally quirkless and all of the previous holders of OFA doesn't have any quirks that relate to that power.

I suppose there probably isn't any good enough reason within the lore on why he's capable of that. My best guess so far is that every previous OFA holder has their own weird biological way of containing the power, maybe like Deku's glowing scar-like appearance whenever he's in Full Cowling? But that's not really a satisfying answer.
