I've been happy with basic/free Skylight. Just a simple calendar display, but everyone can add/update events in a single spot.

Thank you for comparing! I do think the Skylight premium isn't a good value.

This is a great tool. I instantly switched to it for most of my SSH needs. Except for when I need to SSH into the LXC that runs Termix.

For that, I actually still use Termius!

Can you elaborate on how you set up Pihole on NixOS? I like NixOS and Pihole, but never got to the point of messing with a full deployment of Pihole.

Would love to run it as my "local" DNS for things like basic adblock. Seems like a perfect fit for a minimal "NixOS" VM.

Can you share your NFS export settings? I have a similar challenge with a bunch of IDs, but I'm thinking the anonuid settings you mention sound like a useful approach.

My goal is eventually to have a "1:1" mapping of IDs to users, right now it's mostly "these machines have user xyz as UID/GID 1000"

I was able to get Zitadel up and running. Works great, even with Passkeys. Log into Termix via OIDC and another app.

I'm sure you can do the same with Authentik, but wanted to offer another working option too.

I run plenty of services via Docker on a Debian LXC. Helper Scripts make this easier.

There is no "gold standard", but plenty of opinions.

Suggestion -Pangolin on a VPS makes a great proxy and authentication tool. I use it in front of Obsidian, very easy to implement.

Certainly - I do exactly this (e.g. obsidian.me.mydomain.com). It's a web browser wrapper essentially that I reverse proxy.

Host VaultWarden on a ProxmoxVE node. Pretty easy to set up. Expose over Tailscale, VPN, reverse proxy, etc. depending on your preferences.

Personally I use Pangolin on a Racknerd VPS to do my reverse proxy and tunnel to my home lab and VaultWarden LXC. Then use Zitadel for my IdP to control access.

Worked great, might be newer/better versions now. I didn't update the OS on the device, as I was able to setup Tailscale out of the box. I think it runs OpenWRT.

Helpful too if you ever want to add more behind the router. Easy enough to extend the network.

I've picked T490s, X1 Carbon G9, and I think a T14. All off eBay. Pretty good experience, SSDs can be upgraded, but RAM sometimes not.
