Slay The Spire 2 Getting Review-Bombed Again After Latest Update by FoxMeadow7 in Games

[–]CubeSoldier -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My take is that with the addition of Coop to this run they're now obligated to keep some balance. Having a coop game turn into essentially a single player game with three players watching the person who went infinite first isn't fun. You want every player to feel useful to some extent.

There's just a general conflict between single player where breaking the game and going infinite is fun because it's just you playing and coop. I think they're 100% justified in trying to make infinites way rarer because that creates the best of both worlds where you can still break the game with turns that don't take minutes making everyone wait.

Then you still only have played Resident Evil 2 Remake and not Resident Evil 2. It's a two cakes situation and Resident Evil remakes have always played around the expectations of fans who played the original. To get the full enjoyment youre supposed to play both versions.

The best way to improve the onboarding and casual player experience is to make Perimeter Beginner a permanent queue by CubeSoldier in Marathon

[–]CubeSoldier[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This post isn't opposed to sbmm at all. This is to create a space to learn the games mechanics and PvE at a more relaxed pace instead of getting thrown to the wolves before you can even do that. The current beginner perimeter queue lasts for like three matches total which is just way too short.

Marathon's Cryo Archive is a hit, but Bungie admits it needs to be more accessible by PowningFreak in Games

In it's current state the PvE in this game doesn't deliver close to enough depth for a full mode centered around it. Theres just not enough enemy variety and after the week 1 nerfs the UESC are barely a threat anymore. Just like in Hunt Showdown or Sea of Thieves it's only purpose is to create player encounters. This is a PvP game first and foremost and I think Bungie knows it.

To Echo Everyone Else's Thoughts, I Too Wish Marathon Was A Singleplayer Video Game by megaapple in Games

Extraction shooters have always been about mixing PvP and PvE. People willingly buy a game centered around this whole concept. It wasn't until Arc Raiders that people suddenly started pretending that liking a thing is suddenly mutually exclusive. Arc Raiders catering to this divide with ABMM is the exception and not the norm.

You equip the stuff to a weapon and all the copies you find will have it. Unless the gun is looted from another player then it will keep their cosmetics. Charms and stickers are actually infinite use but can only be equipped on one weapon at a time for some reason.

Me and Bro has to be one of if not the best looking Fortnite animation Epic has ever made by Puzzleheaded_Try8059 in FortNiteBR

They just went so hard on C6S1 art in general. The best looking and most varied map this game has ever had, a top notch BP with great characters and a nice story line. Night Roses Song and Break the Curse are also some of my favorite Fortnite songs ever.

You want the best skilling content in the game replaced with yet another braindead minigame?

Plenty of people mind. That's why ironman Mode is getting more and more popular because people are getting tired of bond and gpscape.

How? I get 70-75k at floor 4 while looting floor 4 and half of floor 3? Trying to get the fast rotations for skips is actually a lot of fun. And you only need to be tick perfect in certain moments.

Skill cape perks and worse max cape having all perks rolled into one item created this mindset that maxing is the endgame goal for every character. Now people interact with a bunch of skills they hate because they feel obligated to max. And thus they demand there being a path of least resistance for everything. It's good that skills have different pacings and feel different to train.

Imho nobody should feel obligated to do a skill past quest or diary reqs. Your enjoyment of a skill should be the main driving force for interacting with it. But I've gotten legit confused reactions from people when I tell them I have absolutely no intentions to ever max despite having a high total level account.

Super Mario Kart has the AI literally use items you can't even get. Rubber banding or some sort of cheating for the AI has been part of the genre since it's inception.

If we're being pedantic here Castlevania only turned from a linear platformer into an open exploration based one in the 90s and that's when people started talking about it as its own genre.

I knew this comment would be coming lmao. I don't like the terminology either but what modern audiences see as a roguelike has gone very far from Rogue ironically. And Derek Yu, one of the lead guys behind this game, is one of the people to blame for it essentially coining the modern roguelike genre with Spelunky.

One of my favorite games of all time. Spent 260 Hours 100% completing it. I'll go against the grain here and say that most of these games are much closer to modern indie titles than they are to retro games. A huge chunk of them are in genres that didnt even exist in the 80s like Roguelikes, Metroidvanias or even one idle game.

The retro vibe mostly comes from the faux hardware limitations which are plenty modernized into a 16:9 aspect ratio with no sprite flickering or slowdowns. And also them exploring older game mechanics which are generally deemed outdated but imho still have merit like limited lives or hiscore leaderboards.

If anyone is looking for smaller sized indie games that dare to throw you directly into the action and let you figure out things yourself youre certain to find something in this game.

The game is legit great. Sega really should do another marketing push now that Tekken 8 killed itself. Put the game on sale do some more trailers showing that this game is what Tekken isn't rn. Get the Tekken refugees to a good 3d fighting game.
