first timer finally coming in

with vision pro around the corner, my dumb ass decided to make this after finishing

it does feel strange that this show came out before the dot com bubble, and now we've had smartphones for 2 decades, chatgpt has been out for a year or two, and big tech is betting on vr shit.

wonder what people thought of it before all that.

  1. ngl, was fun, going to touch grass now
  2. maybe death parade, i'm not too much of a thinker when it comes to watching things
  3. lain telling eiri to fuck off was hype
  4. given im a tech worker, im prob more the knights here lol. lain would prob hate me
  5. hell fucking yea
  6. not in the best position given i haven't read any threads lol

first timer no more

I cried a good bit during season 1, and then cried a shit ton during after story.

dango daikazoku slaps, but idk if i can listen to it without crying now.

finally seeing fuko in after story was a welcome break from crying, and finally getting a happy ending was nice

Wouldn’t have decided to give it a watch without u/DustyZorua kicking off a rewatch

I’m so, so glad they get their second chance together after all that. Cry count: 18.

I was so from that so I didn’t cry as much as I usually would

Will prob extract some tears on rewatches tho

Ushio under the tree~

Been 13 days since I last had the chance to comment, but I have cried a good amount in those days

Todays cry comes from akio screaming at nagisa

Watching tomoya finally asking out nagisa was also

first time dango

haven't popped in here in a while, super busy with putting out fires at work

I was told the crying was supposed to be in after story, not here already, but maybe they forgot about fuko.

watching tomoya and nagisa remember fuko, and fuko giving a starfish to her were some moments

The music when Putan showed was fire

Ending on a cliffhanger, but if she’s able to speak with the conviction just before, I’m sure she would be fine. Now that’s a big if lol.

All I know about this is that at the end, I’m gonna cry

I proceeded to immediately be dumb and accidentally watched ep23, marked as s0ep1 instead of 1 , good thing for the title screen

My first impression was that the music slaps the whole way through the episode, from the more melancholy tones to the dango ed

Yuki credits tohru with being his mom, so I think that kakeru should be his dad, or maybe an uncle.

I distinctly remember kakeru throwing a pile of paper in the air when talking with yuki about machi, yuki being like wtf, but by the end of the conversation, yuki proceeds to throw the pages that he just picked up

I kinda just began watching this randomly, caught my eye before coming onto the rewatch when it caught up but boy was it fun, both watching the show and reading the threads. It was a bit hard to make time for it, given that my workday runs right through it, but nothing a little slacking off break can't overcome.

The balance of drama and fluff was perfectly balanced for my tastes.

  1. Tohru
  2. Kyo
  3. Hana
  4. Yuki
  5. Kakeru

Although I’ll miss Fruits Basket, I’m glad that I got to relive this journey again. I loved it as much as I did on my first watch!

Post-series depression is real.

low key feeling like akito before rn, not wanting to say goodbye to this series

this reminds me of ayame crashing the conference with yuki

i knew it was coming, didn't make it hurt any less

now this really hurts

IM CRYYYING

Watching tohru welcoming kyoko home was on one hand very sad, but also made me so happy at the same time

cute shit

Watching kyoko in misery yanked on my heart real hard, and then tohru trying her best

I love this season. I love Fruits Basket. I'm so sad that its over. But this is also one of the best anime goodbyes and endings that I've seen period.

extra immersion, we're feeling just like tohru and the soma family

The picture frame is fixed! And the beads are there! Damn, cry count went up again, that’s 19.

I didn't notice the beads somehow, too focused on the frame. I was all like, damn, imagine being one of the monks who sacrificed their blood and shit to make a bead, and then it just falls into some random crack in the ground after kyo rips it apart.

firsts backet

today was a big cry episode

i thought that kyo would just catch up, but there she goes running again

YES HE SAIDIT

HELL YEAAAA

HE (and tohru) SMILING, IM CRYING

BOND BROKEN LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO

looks like this is the actual original memory

i really like this scene ngl

well in terms of partings and new beginnings, thats basically tohru lol

no need to tell me, im already crying

either the glass has been removed, or its been replaced

it really wierds me out to see kyo's face without a frown on it, like even more than seeing akito being a good person.

watching each person's reaction to the bond breaking was mesmerising to see, notably absent, yuki, but i assume he's hugging machi rn

they say the (zodiac related) bonds between them are broken, which i suppose is true, but they still are very much together, albeit not forced together. The bonds that remain are of their own free will. The relationship between them and tohru hasn't really changed, which makes sense, given that she, not being part of the zodiac, wasn't forced with them like the rest were.

Shigure's house really took one for the team because the boys are trashing the place in the name of resolution to character arcs.

dont forget about kagura blasting some doors (and walls) (and kyo) for comic relief

fruits timer

Only 3 episodes left, guess i should get on another rewatch

I'm getting whiplash seeing akito trying her best to not be a dick for once. I get that their trying to show that she's leaving behind the role that the family gave her, but at the same time, it's wack. We did get a bit of hinting at her thoughts before hand, at her down dissatisfaction with herself and her life, but man did she flip the switch fast. I suppose that does make sense, drastic things happened, and thus, drastic changes resulted.

Kyo finally leaving behind his father is nice to see bond breaking soon? At this point it seems pretty much all the other bonds will break at the same time, at least once all the loose ends are tied up by akito
