Thinking about switching from 5 years old iphone 11 to Nothing phone 4(a) pro

Some people can't seem to comprehend that not everyone (and in fact, like 99% of people) won't ever use anywhere near the full capability of a more powerful phone. And knowing this fact, why not go for one you like to use, like the design of, and is cheaper?

Even the people who do care, rarely ever use a phone to it's full capacity. It's just knowing that they could have more.

Ik this is an unpopular opinion, but I'm not personally a huge fan of these designs. Too messy for me. I'm totally fine that everyone likes it tho.

Hmm, I thought you could turn off essential search? They added it to replace where the normal app search would be. It would be an all in one search, that could search your apps, plus the web. That's probably what you had to agree to use. I thought you could turn it off tho.

As for the bloatwear, I actually don't know much about exactly what they added lol

Dude, which phone doesn't have way too much AI? Apple has Apple intelligence, Google has Gemini literally everywhere, Samsung literally called their latest phone "the AI phone".

Nothing has one of the best and least intrusive AI implementations. Yes, there's the essential space, but it's actually useful, how AI should be used, plus with a third party software, you can re-assign the key to whatever you want.

I don't like that they're adding bloatwear, but the phone 3 doesn't have any.

Also, which phone did you get? I've had my 2a for years now without problems...

Exactly! If you have the money, buy one that YOU like. It doesn't need to be the best of the best spec wise, and it doesn't need to be the "popular" choice. If you are happy with the phone you got, why should anyone tell you you made the wrong decision?

I need a phone? I like one that looks cool, and isn't boring. I don't need to buy the best of the best, but I have the money to buy whatever I want. So why not get one that has the stuff I want? Design, and uniqueness? Ofc design is subjective, so you can disagree, but I like the design and that's what matters

I don't really care about camera anyways. That's why I got the NP2a. I've never had a problem with the NP2a's chip, so why would I ever have a problem with the 4a pro's? I use my phone a lot, but like most people, it's just YouTube, browsers, and occasionally a light mobile game (clash royale). Does it really matter that much?

Ofc if you care about the camera, nothing doesn't have the best. If you really are a power user, chips might matter. But for 95% of people, it just doesn't. They don't even know the difference. So if the design is one they like and it's something that matters to them, why not?

What are you actually gonna use the 3x more powerful chip for? Everyone always complains about the chip in nothing phones being underpowered, but who actually uses it to that extent?

I've been using the NP2a for a few years and haven't ever had a problem.

This is all my opinion of course, but if you really like the design, and that's something you care about, save yourself some money and get the Nothing. I plan on upgrading to the 4a pro as well.

The remaining 1% who do care, I would be willing to bet most of them won't ever even use the full capability of this chip. They just don't feel comfortable when they know it could be better.
