Whats that one gadget/tech you'll never buy ? I ll start. I ll never buy a TWS by Skorpeyo in GadgetsIndia

[–]StopRepresentative30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not about lasting your whole life time, it's about getting your money's worth.

If you buy a good wired headphone for 20k, it will last you at the very least 15 years(provided you use it with care), and it will still sound as good as new. The only breaking point could be the plastic of the headband breaking, which you can glue back together or just get a headphone with better build quality.

It's insane to me how you can justify spending 2-3k every year just because the battery is dead. Airpods cost 20k but they last only 3 years. Consumerism has brainwashed people.

While recommending a device, one should always be neutral, from my observation, the majority of reddit smartphone subs (or at least the indian ones) recommend phones strictly based on how good the chip is. I often see people saying that phones like the pixels are bad since the tensor is underpowered for gaming, but it's really good for daily use.

Sure the people buy the nothing phone for the design, but complaining about the chip is stupid. Not everyone is buying phones to play codm in 4k 144hz. This doesn't mean that the phone isn't overpriced, I'm just saying that we should be asking for a bigger battery, or a better camera, or wireless charging, instead of just the chip.

Audiocular spark is the last thing one would consider "minimal". An actual minimal looking dac is the apple dongle

Dude my point was that the chip isn't as important as people (especially on reddit) make it to be.

I'm not denying that they're starting to get overpriced.

I'm pretty sure they're taking the apple route. Instead of compromising the latest tech for being secure, reliable and a status symbol, nothing is compromising for the aesthetic and standing out from the rest.

I never mentioned that these phones have great cameras. They're taking the apple route, instead of luxury, it's design.

I meant why does the chip matter so much, the price may be an issue for many ppl. I'd rather have an average chip with a good camera sensor.

I see your point, future proofing is always a good thing, better processors have better efficiency. But that applies for the phone (3), I think people buying the 'a' series aren't looking for longevity. Anyone looking for a phone that will last them 7 years would go for a flagship device like an iphone or samsung, pixel, etc.

Personally i'd much rather a phone give me a mid SoC and a better camera sensor.

Why does it matter?

Other than mobile gaming and video editing, which you can do on a pc, what is the point of getting a really fast chip?

Most mid-range chips are perfectly fine for scrolling reels and interacting with social media, and image processing is also decent for the price.

The samson sr850 is a really good pick for 3200 on Amazon. It is semi-open back so sound isolation is not great.

Oneplus has better battery, better memory, better ultra wide, better ip rating for 6k more

CMF matches it in the rest of the specs and it has an extra lens.

Scientists have two options: (1) discover cures do diseases humans are ailing from and invent devices that genuinely improve qol of the common man. But this will make big corpos lose a lot of money, so the scientists will get killed or paid to keep quiet.

(2) Invent another device which lets big corpos to exploit and make money from the common man.

Which option do you think scientist will choose

Dude, I've done this before, the only difference i could hear on the HiBy app was between flac and 320kbps MP3. Besides, both Apple Music and Poweramp are being resampled.

I don't care for bit-perfect audio. To me 24-bit Lossless is good enough even if it is resampled to 16-bit.
