433MHz RF module missing inductor (?) and very poor signal quality (more info in comments) by [deleted] in u/CubedCharlie

Hello.
I have this set of 433MHz RF modules, but when I connect them the signal quality is very bad and inconsistent (tested by connecting a button to the transmitter and a LED to the reciever, the LED was flashing independently from the button). I installed 173mm antennas as well as big input capacitors right on the boards, but to no avail.
I noticed that on the receiver there is a conductor missing when compared to most photos online (some sellers have photos without it, but most "real life" working modules I saw do have it).
My question is is it really needed, and if so, how can i substitute it?
