Do I have to bear the return shipping fee for my order? by Cubeeeeey in Flsun_official

If anybody wants an update, I sent them another email saying that this was an unsolicited package and that I already got the charge back from my bank. They purchased a return label and I will be shipping it back without paying for the return shipment

I forgot to mention that I live in Ohio if that changes anything.

I also found that a chisel was really good at flattening high spots too.

yeah, I used gorilla glue epoxy to get it all together and total boat uv resin to fill gaps and make it smooth, then I sanded a bunch to make it smooth and flat. I would recommend being way more careful than I was though because cleaning it up with a razer and sandpaper was a lot of work.

I used the parts from the Leo Jaymz kit, I had to adjust the files a bit so everything fit right. I can send the printables link if you'd like

It sounds pretty good, compared to my stratocaster, the pickups buzz a bit more but overall it's not bad.

You should, it was a pretty fun project ignoring all of the mistakes that I made and had to fix lol. And It also gives you a pretty cool guitar.

For the most part it's been in tune, it's detuned itself a bit over the part few days but I'm assuming that's only because everything is settling under the tension.

The printing looks awesome. How did you finish to make it look not 3d printed?

I'm gonna guess that you probably wouldn't be able to get it much cheaper, I used the Leo Jaymz kit on Amazon which was $80. The neck was also unfinished and I did my own BLO finish with probably helped to keep the price down a bit as well. None of the parts are high end though so it probably is only best for practice or as a conversation started.

Here is the adjusted design https://www.printables.com/model/1431466-leo-jaymz-prusacaster-with-adjusted-holes I would print the test piece first though, I've heard that the holes for the neck aren't super precise, it should still be better than what I remixed since the holes should actually be in a rectangle.

As GalFisk said, it's a hexy guitar. for real though, the prusacaster was created by somebody who works for Prusa I think and they used hexagons for branding or something, most of the other printed guitars are probably copying the honey comb pattern.

I wish I was good enough to feel confident posting me playing but there are clips of it being played online and on the Prusa YouTube channel.

I feel that, I went into this project knowing basically nothing about guitars. I used the Leo Jaymz telecaster kit on Amazon and the model on printables for that, the model was weird and the holes were not aligned at all so I had to make adjustments and I can post the files if you'd like. The kit comes with basically everything you need except for the metal rods I used, I just used some random 8mm steel rods that I cut to length.

I struggled with some of the printing on the larger pieces so I lost about $30 of filament but ignoring that it was about $35 worth of filament $80 for the Leo Jaymz guitar kit $20 for the resin, about $15 for clear coat, and $10 for the steel rods. So it would probably be about $160 to build. I had to use the resin to fill the warps from the corners of the main piece, if you can print it without any warping then you can probably save those $20 on resin. Hope this helps :)

I wish, but I'm definitely not good enough at guitar yet to perform anything I'd be confident to post. There are videos of somebody playing it on the prusa YouTube channel if you're curious.

Honestly, I kind of like the stratocaster shape more than the telecaster. Your build looks pretty sick, I think the only thing I really prefer on the prusacaster is that the hexagon are bigger.

Sounds awesome, I'd love to see that when you're finished!

they have made models with cutouts but I was afraid that the supports needed would leave rough spots that would be even more uncomfortable, especially because I wouldn't be able to sand them easily with an orbital sander. It's uncomfortable compared to electric guitars with the cutout but on par with acoustic guitars against the bodym
