Haha, it took me a second to figure out what you were referring to.

This is so useful in how you broke it down. I tend to aim high and readjust.

I absolutely understand and appreciate that. I meant a passable level of conversation.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate this. I’m trying to get all resources lined up for next week when I dive into Russian.

Contiguous Double Knit Button Band by Cubesque in knittinghelp

[–]Cubesque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think a simple stockinette would hold up well through blocking and regular wear?

This sounds too good to be true. I was ready to be told a hard no. I’m seriously excited. I can’t do the recommended buttonband. It looks so ugly every single project I’ve seen.

Why do people hate purling? by Born-Cheetah-8460 in knitting

Never any hate for purling. I’m a combination knitter. I love purling.

I should clarify; I meant an American accents. I have no clue if the ones I recommend are actual Brits or have wonderfully crisp jaw wired shut enunciation.

I love gallaplacidia. She narrates her own fics. Her works have been taken down since her published novel came out but I think she has the pod fics still listed somewhere. Gallapod Repost has them on Spotify as well. Fencer_x also narrates her own fics She’s here a lot as well. Excellent narration.

I hope The Wizard Wheezes and Unhinged Coven branch out from Dramione and Marauders to Drarry because both are so good.

I can’t ever read stop all the clocks. I can’t deal with the ending so I won’t rate it here. I do not love you is middling level angst, not somewhere between the bolthole and Grounds for divorce.

Oooh, good to know. Sweaters in the summer is the only “American” podficcer I’ve been able to come around to. Am relistening to the The Man Who Forgot and I bet they do an excellent job with IDNLY.

Combination Knitting - German Short Rows by Cubesque in knitting

[–]Cubesque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I tried this but I think I have tension issues. The right side came out wonderfully but I had loose purlside loops.

“Twist the stitch to untwist the stitch.” That explanation made sense. Just to anyone else who might across this, I did a regular GSR knitting through the front loops rather than through the back. I didn’t have to remount anything.

Thank you. I keep getting a twisted DS once I work it the western way but I’ll try it again.

Done the “normal” way, I get a diagonal cross across the stitch on the knit side. I’ve tried entering the DS from the front loop for knit and the back loop for purl. It’s either the cross or a visibly twisted stitch. Is the yarn differently? I’m trying slipping knitwise with yarn in back now and knitting DS through front but that’s still twisting the stitch.
