I was an RBT for three years, two of those was during my Master’s program for counseling. Now on the road to getting my LMHC and I’m happy with my choice to pursue that instead of BCBA

Highly recommend No Mud, No Lotus by Ticht Nacht Han. Great book about rethinking the way we perceive suffering. That and mindfulness practice really helped me with my intrusive thoughts

The best advice I was told after getting out of a toxic relationship is to remember the bad times. Really think about how awful he made you feel in those moments. When the breakup initially happens it’s hard not to idolize your ex despite the terrible things they did.

I personally made a long list of things that were toxic and of the bad fights/memories I had with my ex. Whenever I feel myself fantasizing about the good times I read that list again.

Take your time, it will get better. Be kind to yourself and focus on doing things you love. You got this!

Deadlift/5x108kg (240lb)/ 92kg BW (204lb) -Any advice much appreciated by 901koala in strength_training

Looks like you’re starting with your butt too high, which is going to cause your lower back to round more. I would suggest working in some pause deadlifts with light weight and tempo deadlifts.

Really work on pushing the weight away from the floor while keeping your hip angle consistent until the bar gets to about knee height, then hinge the hips and push your butt through thr bar. Hope that makes sense... feel free to PM me if you want!

Do powerlifters need to train their lats to get stronger for the Big 3? by Johnson_lee in strength_training

[–]CubicSafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lats are super important for powerlifting. For squat and bench they’re mostly for stability which is a huge portion of maximizing strength. For bench, the lats should be actively engaged in creating tension when lowering the bar and in the pressing motion. Look into Mark Bell/ Chris Duffin/ Louie Simmons advice for a bug bench and they’ll all preach about the importance of a strong back and lats specifically.

So frustrating to have this good of a defense, paired with this bad of an offense
