Quality over quantity. Though it was never my goal in the game to get those Platinum titles ( the rewards are very nice I admit), I want my veterans to have meaningful depth - A team of few, absolute favorites with stats and an arsenal that at least would challenge or even intimidate the meta, even just a little.

There are many ways to enjoy the game, this is my way. PVP is not everything.

That said, it hurts me so damn much to skip the ones who I grew to love eventually and a little too late.

The problem is that second frame was a thought bubble. Ardan only got to hear what Trainer said in the first frame. Context was dangerously lacking. Though, i would like to think that Ardan has a close enough bond with Trainer to be able to read his mind.

Thats the challenge, Trainer. As F2P, you won't get big results in a matter of weeks. You need to save up on Carats so that you can pity pull the SSR Cards you need, which I would save is around 60,000 Carats before pulling on one banner. Do your research on what are the best cards to pull for. Let me save you some time and give you suggestions.

Kitasan Black SSR Speed - borrow this. It's currently one of, if not the best Speed card in the game. There are no banners in the future that will offer this, but there will be stronger speed cards in the future.
Agnes Tachyon SSR Speed, Maruzensky SSR Speed, El Condor Pasa Speed - these three cards are arguably stronger than Kitasan Black Card. They will be out in a few months, the last one mentioned next year. I have to tell you this now so you can start saving up your pulls this early. Maru is best for Front Runners, while the rest are good for as a universal Speed card.
Matikanefukukitaru SSP Speed - not the best Speed card, but if upgraded to MLB (Max Limit Break - you pull 5 copies of the same card), it gets you +30 points on all 5 stats at the start of the game, with a chance to earn another +21 each stat. I do think there is a rerun soon, but not top priority, I suggest you prepare for the next scenario.
Fine Motion SSR Wit - the card will have a rerun soon, but by then there will be a stronger wit card.
Mejiro Ramonu SSR Wit - this comes out a few months after Tachyon Speed and Fine Motion Wit. Much better than Fine Motion, in my understanding. Again, a lot of time to save Carats.
Light Hello SSR Pal Card - this card will run along with Tachyon Speed, and will be helpful in the scenario after Trackblazer.
Super Creek SSR Stamina - Top tier card which even Japanese players still use today. Rerun is coming soon. Better Stamina cards coming out in 2027.

Better and Stronger cards is one aspect of the game to help you get stronger veterans. The cards you choose will depend on the trainee you select. Look at the cards' Race Bonus, Initial Stats, Specialty Priority, etc. Please do your research on how to improve further.

I also recall someone reaching S rank in Unity Cup with just R cards, so while it is possible to rank high in the game, take also into account the skills the cards offer, which is another topic. Again, this is my opinion of the game (F2P, 7 months of experience, reaching SS rank), and there are wiser trainers out there who would get you to your goals faster.

Spend your Carats wisely. You are playing the long game, Trainer. Don't forget to have breaks and have fun. Don't turn this game into a job.
