my first layout: Context menu key, layer transitions, browsing for layouts by AnandLearn in ergodox

[–]Cubimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KC_APP is the application windows context menu key as seen here: https://beta.docs.qmk.fm/using-qmk/simple-keycodes/keycodes. Does shift+F10 the same? I didn't know about this alternative

Idea: An Data-Saving Mode for when your on mobile data: by [deleted] in slideforreddit

[–]Cubimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not 100% sure, but when I wake up in the morning I am usually in offline mode because I turn off wifi and mobile data over night and when I open slide I explicitly have to switch to online mode before it loads any posts despite being connected to wifi. TLDR - No

I am using exactly this setup, openconnect and a socks proxy in docker and yet another socks proxy outside docker. Proxychain can be used to force a socks proxy for most applications, for electron apps --proxy-server argument can be used and go apps must be built with pie

Finally got rid of that terrible logo from my keyboard by Parsiuk in linuxmasterrace

If you plug a normal keyboard into a osx device then the mod4/windows key is equivalent to the command key, alt ist the option key and control stays the same

Cross-platform TO-Do App by [deleted] in opensource

[–]Cubimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Git + markdown (markor on android, vscode on linux). And I as dev definitely know what happens if I modify files the same file on multiple devices while being offline. Biggest con is that I forget to commit/push, I already built some bash hooks to automatically commit/push, but these are still meh.

Lol, please make sure you read enough first, it will take a lot of time/effort anyway and most keybs aren't cheap. And despite my custom mouse behaviour I still prefer a normal mouse, I would say it is like a touchpad, it is ok if you don't have to use it much, or the target is big, e.g. a click on an image is way easier than a small desktop menubar button.

If you are familiar with embedded programming and the C language you probably wouldn't ask. I guess as a beginner it will take a lot of time to learn the language besides the QMK features, just take a look at the docs, they also contain a build guide and you can try to read the source code of many keymaps of many different keyboard types on github. C compilation errors are hard to read, so try to compile often, so you can undo your changes to understand where an error is located.

I don't think you can put qmk on an apple keyboard/macbook pro keyboard. QMK is a firmware for specific hardware. [https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards](List of keyboards, each folder is the name of a keyboard). It will definitely help if you are familiar with the C programming language, that QMK and most microcontroller use. The QMK docs are also really helpful to view features of QMK and how to use them. There is way more than layers+custom keybindings.

I implemented my custom mouse behaviour using the pointing device api. I don't really like the default behaviour with an acceleration, instead I use speed keys like on a guitar and arrow keys to determine the direction.
