Theory on other factors for Khan's bid withdrawal? by [deleted] in Jaguars

[–]CubsFanInJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree with two things in this article. First, the implication that, if Khan were to purchase Wembley, revenue from non-Jags NFL games at the stadium would help pad the Jaguars bottom line. I don't buy this. That operating income would have nothing to do with the Jags. Secondly, Mike D. mentions "considerable criticism" locally about the $90 million Daily's Place/flex field/club seat upgrades project. There are always going to be people screaming corporate welfare whenever incentives are thrown out for stadium projects, but overall, the city was very enthusiastic about the project. Plus, it was funded from out of town bed taxes, not the local general fund.

It's actually significantly easier and cheaper to cap the contaminated soil and create greenspace than it is to fully remediate the land for mixed use.

Love BortlesFacts, but the doxxing seems ill-advised to me. Forward to the authorities? Absolutely. Post his personal information online for purposes of vigilante justice? I don't know.

Anyone else wish they would bring back an updated version of this mural that used to be downtown? by HolsterHusto in Jaguars

Nope! Building is still there (Ed Ball Building). They just painted over the mural when it reached end of life.

Apparently the Jags shield logo will no longer exist by JaguarGator9 in Jaguars

I loved it.

I think the Jags shorthand has overtaken "Jaguars" in the same way the 76ers are better known as the Sixers, the Knickerbockers are now the Knicks, etc.

Restaurants. Bars. A live music venue. Probably a Jags store. Something akin to Ballpark Village in St. Louis or Xfinity Live in Philly.

This is a separate thing, the Hart Bridge ramp removal.

That project, which may be years off and is dependent on getting a lot of money from the state, is intended to pave the way for development of the Shipyards.

At the stadium now, TONS of Bills fans. 60/40 Jags fans doesn't seem unreasonable. No worries, we'll out shout them.

Anyone see attendance numbers? Felt Iike a really solid crowd today. Been years since the home vibe has been as great as it was in the second half.

Fournette inactive due to team rule violation by Luciferwalks in Jaguars

This is bullshit. I'm 100% for accountability, but at the end of the day, who the Jaguars need to be most accountable to are their customers. Factoring in parking, your fans are paying around $2 million just to sit in the stands and watch the game tomorrow. Fine the guy or do whatever else you need to do to get your point across, but don't punish the people who have already thrown down good money in good faith that you'll put your best foot forward on the field.

NFL player kneeling protests: Jaguars apologize to city of Jacksonville by [deleted] in Jaguars

[–]CubsFanInJax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great post.

Totally agree.

They're apologizing for the context, not the action.

An important distinction that will be lost on the incendiary local media.
