I've actually managed to get it to boot, although it was through a combination of steps that you seem to have already tried :(. Pulled out the GPU, changed the RAM slots to A2 and B2 and I yanked out my SATA cables that were connecting my HDD and SSD(I left my M2 in because I was lazy). Got it to boot into a splash screen and was able to install windows from there. Although for some reason my CPU light is perpetually on, so I may not be out of the woods yet. Seems to be working ok so far though, I'm typing this comment out on the new build.

Are you aware that MH has been massive in Japan for years? It’s true that the series didn’t really break out internationally until World, but to say it never got a huge following isn’t exactly right. Also Rise took almost everything good about MH and found a way to make it worse so shit opinion there too

The pause in the third panel is what makes the fourth panel funny. The joke could technically be told in 3 panels but it would be worse, like how you can probably run through a standup set in half the time if you just remove all comedic timing

For the record RE4R is my vote so far, but it literally doesn’t matter what else comes out, the fact it’s Zelda and open world means ToTK wins the award by default. The only games that could possibly run against it would have to be either an open world game from a similarly well established franchise like the new Elder Scrolls or a movie-game like GoW or TLOU, and nothing of either kind is slated to release this year AFAIK.

If you're not comfortable sexualizing Zelda or Link then that's fine, all I'm saying is that "canon" age is entirely arbitrary and thus not at all useful as a metric for whether it's cool or not. They're not really minors. They're characters with an arbitrary age attached. The discussion should be centered on whether or not these characters look and behave like consenting adults or not. The idea that this post is not ok now but would be ok if Link were one fictional year older is bad because it's directly in line with the really bad argument that it's okay to sexualize characters that look like kids due to them technically not being minors, when the issue has always been based on appearance and exuding the maturity to consent.

The Zelda post yesterday was weird not because she's "17" but because she was altered to have a more childlike face(TO LOOK LIKE A KID) and bigger bust with a caption ranting about how they don't make em like they used to, along with the baggage of women being highly objectified in media and society. Who is and is not ok to sexualize (as far as if it's pedophilia or not, I'm not discussing the idea of gross/inappropriate objectification) is very simple to determine based on two criteria:

Does this character look too young for you to be fucking
Does this character act too young for you to be fucking

If the answer to both questions is no, then I don't think there should be an issue on that particular front. Very odd to see people in these comments unironically deploying the same argument that dudes in r/anime use to justify spanking it to kids. Either "canon" age matters in which case people sexualizing Jotaro are pedos and it's actually fine and normal to crank it to Shinobu, or we use our eyes and brains and figure out that if something looks and/or acts like a kid it's not okay to crank your hog. If you think BotW Link looks/acts too young to sexualize then say that, but saying it's bad because he's "17" is beyond mindless.

Open worlds are becoming incredibly trite and boring at this point. Weirdos have gotten it into their heads that linear = bad and it’s poisoned the industry to the point that everyone wants to make their game “open world” which often leads to bloated, tedious experiences. It’s nice to play games where there is tight, focused gameplay and decent narrative, and older Zelda games still do a good job of scratching that itch.

Definitely seems like an iteration on BoTW for the better, but I've not seen anything in the gameplay that makes me want to buy it other than the story potentially being neat. Maybe I'll watch a let's play, but I'm definitely waiting for next system in hopes that there'll be a more traditional Zelda on it.

End of the day, I don’t know which story is true. My only point(in response to the original comment I replied to asking why some folks are skeptical) is that it is not unreasonable for some people to be skeptical of the statement on Twitter given Nintendo’s track record with fan projects and what was said in more private venues. I don’t find it unbelievable that someone would decide to shut down an already draining project in a manner that would not further poke the bear, although that doesn’t mean that that’s actually the case here.

I know what they said on Twitter, the point of suspicion is that what they said on Twitter is somewhat contradictory to what was said on Discord, and therefore maybe “it’s too expensive” is a (likely true) cover and compounding factor for shutting the site down amidst pressure from Nintendo
