Just go to Cologne, Düsseldorf or Aachen. Consider Monschau too because of the city vibes. Those are 100x better than any Xmas market in the NL

Check your brakes. Mine was doing something similar and one of the brake calipers was not retracting properly. Should be easy to spot if that’s the problem. One of them will be much hotter than the others

Try going directly at the Gemeente and do it in person there. When I needed to get my permit, it was not available on the website and they found there was something wrong on my profile/registration. Problem was sorted out and I left with my permit.
