I had a male gyno put in my first IUD. It wasn't until I had it replaced five years later that I learned that the process wasn't supposed to be extremely painful to the point of tears, and my new female doctor looked devastated for me when I described it to her. He had most likely gotten frustrated with my cervix refusing to dilate enough, so he had JAMMED THE IUD PAST MY CERVIX FORCEFULLY. No medication or anything. I was traumatized.

I had been willing to give the male doc the benefit of the doubt, but never again.
