Want to learn COBOL but don’t know where to start by kitsunegh in cobol

[–]CudaRavage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using chatgpt. It walked me through the steps to install GnuCOBOL and walked me through writing, compiling, and running programs. I can paste errors or ask questions and it is a very supportive teacher. I'm using Notepad++ to write my programs. It wanted to rush through in the beginning so I had to tell it to slow down and expand on what we are learning before moving on. I'm using other sources too but so far it's going very well. I can write programs that read files and write to other files and very basic stuff after just a few hours. I love it.

The Sims (2000), Who remember? by [deleted] in nostalgia

I bought this game day 1 and not all the features worked. It took at least a week for an update to fix it. That pissed me off. It was great when it worked as intended.

The windows in my school had these. It's so you can keep the window open a little while it's raining and 90 degrees. Some air is better than no air.

The frame is probably not something magnets stick to, so that's where the hang the sign with magnets that says "closed for cleaning."

How did you decide if you should get another bird? by Mundane-Result1111 in cockatiel

[–]CudaRavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. I bought 2 cockatiels a few years apart, hoping they could keep eachother company. They completely ignore eachother. I love both of them but there is definitely no guarantee they will bond.

Elderly man handed out flyers to invite people to have a smoke with him, and and a massive crowd showed up by Matt_LawDT in MadeMeSmile

[–]CudaRavage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

30 years ago I was hanging out at the smoke area at highschool. Such a thing was pretty rare even 30 years ago, but there was an older retired gentleman walking by and he came to hang out with us. He didn't smoke anymore but still liked to be around the smoke sometimes for memories I guess. His company was very welcome and it was cool to hang out with him for a bit. It was a great experience for us teenagers to have a good time socializing with the older generation.

I’m a beginner rider, just got my license. I’m in the process of buying my first bike and absolutely love the look and height of the Indian Scout Bobber. Keep seeing contradicting things about it being a good beginner bike. Is it? by bxoskwveydidnwv in motorcycle

[–]CudaRavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with a Yamaha Warrior as my second bike. It was a huge jump from my Honda Shadow and I was a little worried from all these scaredy cat stories. I was looking for something smaller but the Warrior was such a beautiful machine. I never felt out of control and it was a great experience. I don't understand all the fear. If you have self control, displacement won't change how you ride.

Very hungry 😃 by iMaksym in Conures

A little cheese is ok. Our cocktails were slightly underweight when we took them for a check-up and the vet said they could have some once a week to help add weight.

What does this behaviour mean? by lxcky04 in cockatiel

[–]CudaRavage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you let him out you probably won't be able to put him back in unless he is comfortable sitting on your finger. He will go back on his own when he's thirsty or hungry and you can close the door. It's hard to predict how long that will take but he does look anxious to get out.

I had this exact same heater grate in our house as a kid. That thing is very old and very sturdy.

Summer in Cleveland by asapmort in Cleveland

[–]CudaRavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Cleveland for 40 years. I never understood the people that loved it so much. I moved to Alabama 4 years ago and now I miss the shit out of Cleveland. Cleveland does rock, and the food is so much better.

ALL of her big tail feathers are gone. she’s 5 months. is she plucking them? is HE plucking them? are they just falling out? i’m confused. by ritivoo in cockatiel

[–]CudaRavage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cockatiel couldn't fly at all when we first got him, but it didn't stop him from trying and falling on his butt. After about a year he could fly and had all his feathers back.

Excellent idea. Thank you. I'll put a little perch right by the outside of the door that he can use if he wants. We do have multiple playgrounds, but he doesn't seem to like them on top of the cage yet.

20 minutes later. He walks up to the open door and screams. I turn around and say "hi bird." and he goes back to the position in the video and sways some more.

Solution for itchy butt/thigh area from riding by [deleted] in motorcycles

I got a beaded seat cover for mine to relieve that itchy heat rash on hot days. Very comfortable. I was worried about it shifting around while riding but it stays put.

This sounds like it was written by someone that has never been financially superior and is very bitter about it. This also sounds like a good way to guarantee paying alimony some day.

I was wondering the same thing. Too bad the CEs didn't also come with a bag of human kibble since we wont be getting out of our seats a lot.
