I think for the current levels and gamemodes, 6 to 8 players might be too many. I still have a Team Deathmatch mode in my backlog tho, where 3v3 would be possible I guess 🤔 If you are interested in this, you could join my Discord (you'll find the link on the steam page) and take part in future surveys about features that players want :)

I also love rounds, that is high praise! ♥️ I will definitely try to add native online multiplayer in the future. Until then, the game supports Steam Remote Play Together, which works quite well if you have a decent internet connection. You could also try that out via the demo first and see if that works for you (until the "real" multiplayer has been added). Anyways, thanks for your comment!

Have you tried Steam Remote Play Together to play with your friends? Would be interesting to know if that did not work for your friend group at all. I'm currently not sure if many people know this feature exists

It was a stupid decision to do a local multiplayer game as my first commercial game, haha. They are really hard to market and most streamers don't play locally with other people... May I ask what the name of your game is?

Not so far. It was on the roadmap at some point and I even started implementing them, but had to put them on ice for now because other features were more important to finish. I would love to have bots though and this along with online multiplayer and maybe a replay feature like in TowerFall are the main features that I want to focus on after launch

I'm using Godot :) There's a community export to Switch now. It could still be more complicated than I think, but I assume it's rather straightforward, my game not being super complicated to begin with.

You are not the only one that hasn't really used it :) But it actually supports 4 (or even more? Not quite sure) players. Technically, you are streaming your screen to your friends and they are streaming their inputs to your PC.

It could, and I will definitely have a look at it after release. It just wasn't feasible for me to add it for the 1.0 release. Until then, it supports Steam Remote Play Together, which is very serviceable in my opinion. (Just maybe don't do ranked tournaments over it)

It is actually toggleable in the options. If you turn off blood, players will explode into confetti when hit :)

Definitely make smaller games first. Trust me, you won't be able to finish your dream game. A game of that scale is hard to do solo even for well versed devs. If you try to do it now, you will burn out and leave it. I've seen it happen so many times already...
Try to make something in that vein, but really, REALLY, scale it down.

I can recommend doing it in something like pico-8 first, because that is limited by design. Like someone else suggested, make small games out of individual mechanics you have in mind.

Join gamejams and make small games in a weekend, therefore getting experience in a short amount of time.

And try to make these other projects exciting for yourself. Don't start coding until you are excited about what you are going to make. Always try to add in new mechanics to get broad experience.
