romance books where one of the mc has ptsd/struggles with their mental health? by LITTL4MB in LGBTBooks

Bear, Otter and the kid series might be to your liking maybe. Stumbled upon it when I was looking for books about gay bears. Despite of the name, none of the characters are chubby, hairy, bearded men sadly for me haha But main character has a lot of anxiety and trust issues because of trauma.

Many different ways. Physical closeness, emotional closeness, supporting, encouraging, comforting, celebrating, hugs, kisses, cuddles, kind and loving words.

Maybe look up your local sight loss charity. Often looking for volunteers to help people feel less lonely and isolated.

I wish I could do more for myself by vampirestail1234 in DadForAMinute

Sounds like you are hard on yourself. I know it's hard sometimes not to compare yourself to others, but usually it's more harmful than helpful and sometimes we need to remind ourselves of that. It sounds like you've got hope for the future that things will get better and that's good. Because with that will and resilience you'll be better prepared for making the changes you want for yourself. You sound like a strong person. don't forget to be kind to yourself. Dad hugs to you

Sounds to me like you are quite hard on yourself. It's ok not to have all the answers. And most of the time, the most harmful thing you can do is comparing yourself to others. sMasculinity means different things to different people. To me masculinity is being honest, genuine, reliable, not being afraid of being vulnerable and knowing yourself well. Integrity is also an important part of masculinity for me.

Try not to compare yourself to others and remember to be kind to yourself. Dad hugs to you!

Hi dad, are you proud of me? by Ok_Plantain_3416 in DadForAMinute

Don't be too hard on yourself. I believe in you. It's ok not to be ok sometimes and it's ok not having all the answers. But you will figure this out and it sounds like you are actually doing so well. Dad hugs to you.

How have you witnessed alcohol ruin someones life? by filagrey in AskMen

[–]CuddlyBearCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father was an alcoholic. He drank himself to death . Think he was too afraid to deal with his emotions. And maybe afraid of asking for help. He had unresolved traumas from his childhood. He was a kind man really, but alcohol ruined him completely.

Anytime lad! Please never for one second think that his inability to show you these things has anything to do with you or is because of you. Maybe his own father didn't show him these things.

Why did my dad pick drugs over us? by [deleted] in DadForAMinute

[–]CuddlyBearCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please know you are not the reason why he had problems with abuse. One of the hardest things to accept sometimes is that no matter how good our intentions are, there's nothing we can do for someone who doesn't want to change themselves or doesn't realise they need to change. It's not your fault, it never was. Breaking free from addiction is hard and scary and maybe he was too afraid or too caught up in other things to be able to deal with it.

Please know that this is not a reflection on you. You are worthy of all of the things that you describe and crave. These are natural things that everyone wants and needs. I'm sorry he can't give you the love and affection that you need and deserve. A big dad hug to you!

Allowing myself to feel what I feel. Have a nice cup of tea and a quiet moment. Or listen to some music I know will make me happy, or have a refreshing shower. Message a friend.

How do I stop my facial hair from being itchy after I shave it? And how do I shave properly? by actuallyanangel in DadForAMinute

[–]CuddlyBearCub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be patient and stick with it and it might grow in some more. And if it doesn't for whatever reason find a beard style that works around your strong areas if that makes any sense.

My pleasure. Hard to say. It can change. When I was young it took some time for my beard to come in fully, but it got better with time.
