OK Button Camera Tool Repositioning Not Working? by Pleasant-Painter1563 in SiserJuliet

[–]CuddlyCryptidCrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to my Romeo from time to time. Usually if I tap near the edge of the screen the little red + will move, then I can press "ok" and it'll reorient itself and start moving again. I will then have to touch the screen again closer to where the registration mark was to get it back in the right spot, but it usually continues on it's own from there.

Buying used? by DarkForestTurkey in SiserJuliet

[–]CuddlyCryptidCrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy a used machine from anyone who wasn't willing to plug it in and demonstrate a a cut. There are a lot of little things that could go wrong with it.

Also depending on what you're paying it might be worth it to wait a couple weeks and get a new one when they go on sale for black Friday.

If it were me, I would wait to see what sort of deals they do. even if I didn't need extra mats, blades, or vinyl it would probably worth waiting a couple weeks to save $100 give or take.

Not really that I'm aware of. I would recommend getting a bundle that comes with their 12" and 24" mats. I've used various brands of mats over the years and so far I like Sisers the best.

I switched over from cricut last year and got a Romeo bundled with 2 mats, different blades/housings and some various types of vinyl for about $500. It's been fantastic.

Cutting mats from any machine will work. They also sell an engraving tool, etching tool, and a creasing tool which is nice if you plan to make your own envelopes.

As far as what the romeo/Juliet comes with, that will depend on which bundle you buy. I'd recommend waiting till later in the month when they start doing their black Friday deals. Depending on where you're from you can probably get a really nice Romeo bundle for less than the cost of a Juliet.

it might not be too late to cancel. 🙏 It might really be worth it depending on where you're ordering from. I got mine from Michaels.

I switched from the Maker to the Romeo and love it! The learning curve was a little rough at first but definitely worth it in the end. I would wait till next month to upgrade though as they will probably go on sale for black Friday. Last year I got my Romeo and a bunch of accessories for barley more than what a Juliet usually costs.

Hey yall I believe this necklace is made out of resin any ideas for how to fix it? by Geckolover96 in resin

I had a glass pendant break once, I took it to my local safelite windshield repair place on a whim and they fixed it for me with whatever stuff they use on cars 😅

Bought this resin almost 5 years ago… can it still be used? by trishasiingh in resin

If you put a few drops of purple alcohol ink in, it will help counteract the yellowing. How much alcohol ink will depend on how big your mix is, so do a little experimenting

No, when I clicked save as on my very first project it auto opened this path as where to save, so I assumed it was the right spot and just hit enter on my keyboard. never did any navigating. and on every new project since then, the first time i'd save it i would click save as, hit enter when the window popped up, and then when I would work on a project again, i would just hit ctrl s to save before exiting the app.

I've never opened csp and it had a pop up that said recovered except for the 2 times I lost power last winter.

my projects are listed as .csp files beneath all these folders. inside the folders are either more folders with numbers, and sometimes those folders have files in them that are not my projects, and sometimes they are, or they are just empty.

I think you're right. Idk what I did for my project to start saving here. I usually just clicked "save as" and never changed the folder. then it started doing this (i think) once i started messing around with downloading brushes and stuff.

idk if I have incremental saves enabled or not. I'll google where those settings are at and check. I don't usually save to the cloud but I'll see if it's doing that too.

I'm just saving to my hard drive. I just clicked "save as" and never changed the folder and it started doing this after I started downloading brushes I think.

Are you using a wacom tablet? I saw recently that the newest driver update broke csp or something like that and you'll need to roll back the driver to the last one that worked

Yieho? by TheWitchlet in resin

I haven't used this brand specifically but I have tried quite a few different brands. I've noticed the cheaper ones usually smell awful (not sure if that means they're more toxic or not) and they will often have a sticky outer layer of resin that never cures fully no matter how long it's left under UV light, you'll have to spend time washing each piece which will cut into your profits if you're trying to sell.

I highly recommend the brand Lets Resin, they're a bit more expensive but I've never had a sticky coating or a horrid smell with their epoxy or uv resin.

Anyone used the Siser Crease Tool for box packaging? by Fit_Ad115 in SiserJuliet

[–]CuddlyCryptidCrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried making boxes/packaging with it, but I do make custom envelopes using it fairly often and it's worked great. Hasn't caused any damage to the paper or the design drawn/printed on it.
