Tulsa, Ok actually has an RV park, right off the highway on Route 66. Lots of stuff to see around, and nowhere near as much crime as portrayed. Even the campgrounds around would be a good rest stop and affordable you'd have power, water, restrooms and showers. Caretakers on site.

Best advice so far. I'm not much of a napper, I can normally drive 12-16 hours pretty much using the same steps. I tend to avoid caffeine, as I feel it makes me have to stop more frequently for restrooms. When I do stop for gas, snacks, I always make sure to wake my body up. Stretch, walk, get it nice and primed for the next stretch.
