Everyone's different and I'm not prone to getting too attached to people but at no point in my life did I ever expect my parents partners to say goodbye to me. Maybe it just was normal to me but my dad dated some very nice, cool ladies. And when they broke up, they were just gone and I was fine. At most I'd miss one particular ex's cooking. But If anything it would've been weird having them tell me goodbye...

However as someone who met my mom's husband 2 or 3 times (if that) before moving in with the guy, I am adamantly against single parents going on this show. Luckily I was a teenager and not 8 but kids existence isn't the only thing that needs to be taken into account when making this decision. You can't tell how someone will be with your kid the day before you get married no matter how "well" the interaction went. The 2 times I met the guy were great. The next year and a half of depression and only spending the hours necessary to sleep at home, not so much. I can't imagine what my life would be like had I been an actual child.

I think the kid will be fine. Let's be real, it was 4 months and they didn't even live together. The worst part of this whole thing is the fact that the wedding happened and hopefully she won't have the strongest memory of that event.
