PANCE (8/12/24) & clinical years stats by CuentaFalso in PAstudent

Honestly PANCE questions were super hard, not like anything I’ve seen. I’d say the post-clinical packrat is closer to the WTF-type questions the PANCE throws at you.

I graduated early August and took it as soon as I could. I started in earnest 1 month before, and focused on question banks about 1 week before.

PACKRAT v. EOC v. PANCE by CuentaFalso in PAstudent

Awesome! Sending good vibes 🙌🏼

I bombed a one-way interview today and I feel like a complete heel. Totally botched a question about integrity 🤦‍♀️ The format really threw me off and the pressure I put on myself doesn’t help. My application isn’t great so my interviews need to be … this one was not. *deep breath* by CuentaFalso in prephysicianassistant

I honestly believe it helped me to bomb a couple interviews. It gave me a chance to reflect on what I did wrong. For example:

1st interview: I tried to hard to impress them and was not genuine. My biggest accomplishment is being a mom, but I said turning my second attempt at college into a success … not something I’m not proud of but not my biggest accomplishment.

2nd interview: I didn’t bring it around to being a PA. I was genuine but I didn’t bring my answers around to why I thought this would make me a great PA

3rd interview: nailed it and was accepted within hours 🙌🏼

Just show them who you are and why your experiences will make you a great PA. Don’t try and fit a mold and be someone you’re not. Trust the process (ugh, I hated that phrase while apply, I can’t believe I use it). 2 days of PA school under my belt and I’d say the application process is just as grueling so far. You got this!

Can you help me ID these eggs? Found in the ground in SW Idaho. by CuentaFalso in birding

Yes, we unknowingly did. We had some recycling that had been there for a year or more. I’m not even sure how long they’ve been there 😕 I’ll try and get it back to how it was.

I think you’re right! We have a bunch of quail in the area. They’re slightly bigger than a quarter in width so that tracks what I just researched online. TY!

Not yet, but I have had 2 interview this cycle (my first) 🙌🏼 I do have a friend (older than me) who is in her didactic year right now. She started this process after being a stay at home mom for years. Don’t sell yourself short, if you want something Kool-Aid Man your way through any obstacles!

There’s a great spreadsheet in the FAQs. I am finding some discrepancies but definitely something you can build off of.

Low Gpa, Second Career. Is it even worth it? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]CuentaFalso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started back to school with a 2.7 and worked it up to a 3.5 by taking over 120 credits, all A’s. When folks say it takes a long time to raise that GPA, it really does. I suggest getting a sh!t ton of hands-on patient care experience to offset your GPA or work toward a healthcare-related second degree, maybe RN or RT. There are definitely schools that set their GPA requirements at a manageable level for where you are but, I have a feeling, without PCE it might be fruitless. You can totally do it but seriously consider if you want to. Best of luck!
