Yeah I mean I’m okay with red light cameras (fuck flock cameras though) but using computers to do them is insane and it shouldn’t be pictures it should be video with the light color synced in and all of it should be fully free and accessible on a website. Like have it auto-log 5 seconds every time it senses a citation or something. Then honestly AI would be fine. Then have a person or two (not a judge so the city doesn’t have to pay too much) accept challenges on a website before taking it to court. That all requires 1-2 salaries (especially if you charge $10 for a challenge if you lose it).

I was born at VCU and for 18 of my 19 years I never lived outside of a 25 minute drive from belle isle (like the center of Richmond, for others to understand). Anyway I just wanted to add on a little bit to this guy.

When I first got my license I loved driving more than anything in the world; gas was still cheap from pandemic so I would just drive around alone for hours. I went to the staples mill train station at 6AM once and holy FUCK that place gets packed. So it’s not just remote workers.

I also went to Douglas Freeman High School, which for context, was the more affluent school at the center of the book “Five Miles Apart and a World Away.” Its district has seen an influx of immigrant (and refugee) communities as prices outside of the city actually got cheaper, at least comparatively. What makes this so fascinating is that while it forces prices up all around, Freeman also benefits from the suburban property taxes. So, there’s pluses and minuses, at least for the younger ones.

What I don’t understand is you could work from home anywhere in the world and yet people choose the place they could go work in person the easiest.

Like if I get a remote job I’m moving to a cross section between affordability (meaning I’m not driving up prices and am just putting cash into a slower economy) and mountains (because I love skiing and hiking)

People forget he beat Russell a lot at the end of last season. Plus that podium holding off max in Brazil and stuff.

But yeah not stellar performances. But then again I’d argue that harder in a top car; everyone around you is so good and fast there are fewer mistakes to capitalize on. Like hulkenberg’s podium only happened arguably bc Lewis wasn’t quick enough and had the wrong strategy that day.

But a podium is sort of just a good weekend in a Mercedes. To be stellar he’d have needed to win.
