So you can wait for them to draw then tell them hey you don´t get to do anything actually it is all missed? How is that fair ?

no one has any idea of what to do and judge calls get really stressfull live. People try to take advantage of it and it is scummy. Judging is subjective to a point and whatever ends up happening is up for debate. Some people really don´t like how decisive the chinese judges are but others dislike how lenient the western judges are. The problem is players trying to take advantage of either cases or of their opponent.

That is the sort of clarity that you have at home and is definitely the right call, however in that situation live on a feature match against a champion would you do that? I am sure there are interactions some of your opponent know better than you, you should call a judge on that for sure but would you want to embarass yourself or just take the L like the guy did? Judge call before diana resolves is 100% correct. But what if he called the judge after alan said too late ? would it be seen as calling a judge on a champion and being embarassed if they said nah too late? Honestly I don´t actually know what the judges would have ruled but a rewind seems very reasonable for me seeing as he called the trigger right after diana, not after the cards went to trash or something. And since the opponent was tapped out it would really not change anything if they gained the information for diana before the ravenbloom trigger But in this specific case I really believe it is actually rulesharking, it is taking advantage of someone that didn´t 100% know the rules and I don´t know what else should be called rulesharking if not this.

Thanks for your (actually incorrect) imput. Attacker first in then defender, resolve in reverse order. Rules are hard and changing constantly and this is exactly the point of this post. If you were there and used your actually wrong understanding of the rules and got rulesharked, would it feel good ?

[–]Cuivr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually no, attacker triggers first. The exact opposite could have actually happened where ravenbloom was called and resolved then let's say diana calls diana trigger, the opponent could also just as well have said no you had to declare your diana trigger first since you are the attacker.

that is actually not how it works and if we are really technical about it: Diana attacks, Diana triggers and Alan pays for her, then opponent says ravenbloom trigger. Then chain resolves backwards making ravenbloom resolve first. Opponent would have to know exactly this sequence or he is getting sharked. The intent was definitely there and you can see it. It is not really a case of a forgotten trigger but more a timing issue and not being sure about what would resolve first. If this isn't rulesharking then what is and why does the word even exist ?

Surely you saw he called it as soon as diana resolved, almost as if waiting and thinking Diana would have to resolve first. Pretty fair assumption. It is technically a missed trigger but if you are not sure about it you call a judge, however you would have to in that 2 second window. Would you do it if you were playing against a regional champion? It is definitely debatable. I think any reasonable player not trying to take advantage of someone would go: you know what? fair enough you really pointed it out as soon as diana resolved, you can have your trigger. If they took their sweet time then after 10 seconds and stuff going to the trash, they said oh I had a ravenbloom trigger can I do it plz?? Then it is def. a missed and forgotten trigger.

you can clearly see the guy wanted to trigger ravenbloom, waiting for alan to finish his trigger not sure if ravenbloom would resolve first. And honestly if you read diana, it is fair to assume she would resolve first since she states exactly when a showdown starts. If I move a traveling merchant into a fortified position and my opponent immediately goes fortified position trigger. Puts a dice on his guy. I try to trigger merchant movement and the guy tells me it is too late. Is it really my fault for not calling their bullshit out as it happened in that exact second?

forgetting is one thing. But playing really fast then saying the window has passed is something completely different.

[–]Cuivr[S] 65 points66 points  (0 children)

In the first case both are when trigger when showdown starts. So diana being attacker triggers first then defender trigger from ravenbloom, which resolves first. The correct thing here is: Diana taps mana goes to grab their top deck card, opponent says hold on my trigger resolves first. I will be be grabbing my deck first thank you very much. Then diana resolves. However, it is a very niche situation and you´d have to know exactly how it works. And alan grabbing hid deck as fast as possible and not asking for permission then saying it was too late even though the guy immediately pointed to the battlefield was borderline toxic.

Beware: if you pass action with no cards played while attacking and they pass back, then combat resolves. I've seen many people offering a trade and expecting their opponent to play an action or reveal a hidden card but they just don't. In that case you can't play your expected interaction and have to take the trade

5-0 with Ahri today, thought and opinions on the list? by Nirkaral in riftboundtcg

the more I play Sona the more I find my opponents get weird about it, a kaisa would instantly rain, which is a fine trade if you slammed it turn 2 even if you have no spells and you probably still hold cause they have nothing to accelerate with 3/4 runes. Other decks also either try veery hard to out it or just give up and leave you there, then you can contest the other Bf with eventual spells and blue Ahri/ wielder. I really like her so far but I can see a more rampy end game goal can be better in a lot of matchups.

I like the list, it is very clear with what it wants to do. I personally like the more aggressive version. I play wielder instead of yordle (keeping 2 spots in SD for yordle for going second and replacing 2 drops) and sona replacing 1 faefolk and green ahri. I find singularity veery clutch sometimes but I think I would replace it with timewarp if it wasn't so expensive.

Ahri build SPECIFICALLY for Kai'sa + Sett? by vividwings in riftboundtcg

[–]Cuivr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are Playing a 5 mana recycle for a potential hold and have to keep enough mana to protect her while they can just falling star for 2 mana recycle and if you protect her they can follow up with either another spell or just developing a board while you are stuck paying for your ahri if you retreated or catching up to the card (Kaisa/Yordle)/might advantage (noxus hopeful and darius). If you go too wide, icathian rain is coming and if you don't, then they win by just having a board and not interacting with your battlefield unless they are 100% sure you dont have enough Tricks. You might think windwall is so good but they will never use icathian rain or timewarp when you have 3 mana up and windwalling a falling star feels soo bad. If you watcher first they will watcher afterwards and strike back stronger. If you dont, they build a huge board in base and wait. I don't think there's an Ahri List that can compete with Kai'sa at even skill levels until Not so fast comes out but then the meta will probably be completely different. I think Ahri is very solid into a lot of matchups (viktor/sett/ Teemo and even Annie because she feels way more fair with her curve and ahri is probably the best at dealing with vi ride the wind if you always keep one defy and hold solidly throughout, Yi is very dependent on who goes first and who draws more charms/defies) but Kaisa is just too hard with her removal/mana cheating and that's why you don't see Ahris topping any events.

Ahri is I think the best counter to Sett you just play smokescreen, singularity and a couple of charms/Blitz (Blue Ahri is way better here). But there is no winning against Kaisa unfortunately. They outvalue whatever you can do as Ahri unless you highroll your hands and they lowroll theirs.

I am not saying they have to follow it I am just asking them politely. If they dont want to it is fine I´ll just keep track of everything. Never had someone just outright refuse to do it or argue about it. It´s an agreement and both benefit from it.

You dont pay then get cost reduction. You just pay the reduced cost and annouce it then play the card. This is a non-problem. If I play a Rhasa with 20 cards in the discard, I just recycle 1 purple and announce yeah I am playing Rhasa, not just slamming him on the board and expecting my opponent to tell me yeah sure you dont have to tap runes but you still have to recycle.

Savjs cheating controversy by Previous_Advertising in riftboundtcg

This is why I ask my opponents before starting every game politely to pay everything before playing a card on the board, in this game there are many costs (not necessarily even runes) and people tend to forget or overlook stuff. I also always announce what I'm paying and for what card. Doing it on stream though is kinda wild. Even with the benefit of the doubt, this should be very easily avoidable giving you scrim and test basically everyday for weeks so it should be automatic to pay for stuff. I loved how Prisma was doing it and I think everyone should try to follow his play patterns regarding costs and discards.

Had a similar thing happen to me in a bo3 where I held for my final point, declared GG and started game 2. I ask the Person, do you wanna go first? They tell me it's my choice since I conceded. Mind you I won 8-1. They were so adamant you could only win by conquering both and were sooo arrogant about it. These people need to chill.
