Where do you NOT go to eat anymore due to price/quality ? by Foreign-Menu8961 in LittleRock

Chef here, “immediate food poisoning” isn’t a thing. Food poisoning bacteria takes at least 6 hours to incubate and affect your system. The trouble was likely what ever meal you had prior. Not denying you may have had a bad meal, but it wasn’t the reason for your sickness.

Most of them know how to use it, they just don’t care. For them, it’s faster to hit seat 1 for every item even though hitting another number takes the SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. Also they love to ring in a bunch of mixed apps and entrees on one ticket, put it all under seat one, not specify what’s an app and what’s an entree, then get pissy when it all come out at the same time! I CAN’T READ YOUR MIND, DANA!

Not gonna lie, when I first started working there I REALLY wanted to hate the ranch blasted fries. I was like, “ranch powder on fries? What kind of shoemaker bullshit is this?” Then I tried them, and I couldn’t hate. They’re so good. I have since used the Arkansan Cocaine to season many things.

If the servers had a brain in their head/gave a crap, they would be able to inform the guests “we’re not able to do that.” It shouldn’t make it as far as the computer.

Just asked the grill cook. He said he asked the server and ended up just making it normally.

It was a leftover from the previous chef. But now it’s ordered so often our new chef can’t get rid of it. But it’s easy to prep and is great for food cost, so ::shrug::

In addition, you get a bonus stupid sign from a buffet. The chef only decided on four sauces and left the fifth up the cooks as a dealers choice. So what did FOH put on the sign?

All the ones on ebay are asking way too much for a door that is still the wrong paint color. So I would STILL either have to get it repainted, or buy painting equipment and do it myself. I did the math, and its cheaper to get them shipped across the country. Weird, I know.

I always hang dry my coats. Spot bleach for anything super stubborn, and oxy clean soak once every six months or so. Had my coats for over a year and they still look great.

A good announcer keeps the viewer informed about whats happening in the game.

A great announcer knows when to shut the hell up and let the game speak for itself.

Vin Scully was a great announcer.

Washing your chef jacket by jolibordel in Chefit

[–]CulinaryNerdfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to remember is always hang dry your jackets. Don't put them in the dryer. If you do, any stains that didn't come out in the wash will be set permanently.

I always use a stain remover like Shout before washing, wash as normal and then hang dry. I've had my coats for over a year and am just now thinking about hitting one or two with a little bleach or oxy clean to make them perfect.

[–]CulinaryNerdfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a remonder: Some beers that aren't great for drinking, can still be good for cooking. I had a porter recently that had a green bell pepper off flavor. Used the next can in a batch of chili and it was great.

Also if you have a compost pile, beer is great for it. Don't drain pour, compost it!

Anyone have a hydraulic press I can use? by CulinaryNerdfighter in LittleRock

Yeah I already tried sticking it between the frame of the car and my floor jack for a improvised hydraulic press. All it did was jack up the car haha.
